Elektra recording group Kitten has announced an extensive series of tour plans, all leading up to the eagerly awaited arrival of their as-yet-untitled debut album, due to arrive later this year. Filter magazine unveiled a sneak preview of the band’s new material on their website with an early mix of an album track with the working title “Yesterday (What’s

Love).” The track is currently streaming on YouTube (http://youtu.be/sU4oSrOWuN0) and can also be heard on the band’s official website (www.kittentheband.com).

The Los Angeles-based band will serve as special guests for a number of like-minded artists, including Canvasback Music/Atlantic’s own The Joy Formidable and Fueled By

Ramen recording group Paramore (see attached itinerary). Additionally the band will be making a stop at the annual South By Southwest Music Festival in March; more details to be announced soon. For up-to-the-minute tour information, please see www.kittentheband.com/tour.

Fronted by the extraordinary Chloe Chaidez, Kitten has drawn ecstatic praise for their rejuvenation of classic post punk and New Wave pop. “While most hyper-young artists are working at the bleeding edges of dance music, Kitten’s rich and atmospheric rock is surprisingly ageless,” applauded the Los Angeles Times in a recent live review. “The real draw is Chaidez, as sure a shot to be a rock star as L.A. has produced recently. Onstage she’s a dervish, flailing and writhing and bashing her bassist about the chest with a tambourine. Those antics belie her age, but her voice eclipses it – a huge instrument that can veer from feral yelp to ethereal falsetto.”

Furthermore, NYLON raved in a recent feature that Kitten are “audibly grounded in two generations’ worth of music history, with heavy synths, rushing noise guitar, and a singer’s voice that recalls the screech of Karen O and breathy soul of Chan Marshall.” As if that weren’t enough, Time named Kitten’s upcoming debut album as one of their “11

Albums To Look Forward To In 2013,” praising “Chaidez’s phenomenal vocals, which draw comparisons to both Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Florence Welch,” further noting that “the choppy beats, catchy choruses and glam stadium-filling sound show that Kitten won’t be sitting at the kid’s table much longer.”

Kitten has quickly made a name for themselves as one of today’s most dynamic and imaginative new rock bands. Released in 2012, the band’s “CUT IT OUT” EP joins the raw power of 80’s post punk with indiepop’s emotional delicacy to fashion a distinctive and electrifying sound all their own. Songs like the instant classic “Cut It Out”

(http://bit.ly/XSVkHm) and atmospheric “G#” (http://bit.ly/QbhQIo) are alive with irresistible melodies, incessant hooks, and Chaidez’s provocative lyricism, earning Kitten high-profile radio support from Sirius XM’s influential “Alt Nation” channel and forward- thinking, tastemaker stations like Kansas City’s KRBZ and Los Angeles’ KROQ and KYSR.

Founded in 2010, Kitten first made waves with their independently released debut

EP, “SUNDAY SCHOOL,” as well as an undeniably exhilarating live show. “Chaidez has a raw power and believability as a performer,” noted SPIN.com. “You can’t quite take your eyes off her for fear of missing something. I felt an honest chill of discovery...”
