LET’S KICK OFF THE SEASON WITH SOME BEGINNER LEVEL ACTION FOR OUR NEW RECRUITS AND STRUGGLERS! LET’S BE HONEST AND GIVE OUR NEW RECRUITS AN OPPORTUNITY TO APPLY THEIR NEW LEARNED SKILLS IN A FAVORABLE ENVIRONMENT TO EXPERIENCE SOME SUCCESS AND HAVE SOME FUN !

SANCTIONS: OKWA / YMCA ( NO USA CARDS REQUIRED ! )

ELIGIBILITY: This is an event you CAN bring your third, fourth and more year strugglers to, But NOT your second year stallions. ( OKWA / YMCA Novice Level only)

2016 OKWA / YMCA Bylaws -definitions: Novice- Any wrestler who has placed 1st through 4th less than 8 times in brackets of 6 or more wrestlers, including themselves at any tournament, and have not placed 1st or 2nd in OKWA Novice State. Also any (Div II thru V) wrestler who has not placed 1st at any open tournament in a bracket of 6 or more wrestlers, including themselves. This clause does not apply to division I wrestlers.

FORMAT: This will be a round robin event with no more than 6 per pool. Each age division and weight will be split into pools 1, 2, 3 etc. as necessary based on the number of entrants, their skill levels and years of experience. Enter online at www.okwa.us. Then send an email to [email protected] with the following data for each wrestler:  Club Name, First Name, Last Name, Age Division, Weight  Their skill level A – aggressive / talented, B- mediocre / average, C- timid / struggling,  Years each has wrestled: 1-their 1st, 2-their 2nd, etc.,  Birth Date & Actual age on Nov 14th in years and months,  Exact actual weight to the tenth of a pound. Including Hwt kids! Use Format so we can cut & paste: Perry, John Doe, II Hwt, B, 2nd, 6/25/07, 8yrs 4.5 mo, 112.7# Please use Word text format .doc, NOT Excel .docx The idea is to pool kids together equally skilled they can compete with and not be dominated.

 ENTRIES ARE DUE BY : TUESDAY NOV. 7TH @ 12:00 MIDNIGHT - NO LATE ENTRIES. No Exceptions. NOTES:  We wish to make NO changes of any kind at the event.  TRIPLE CHECK your entries thoroughly before sending!  Please use the email address and add all the info requested in the requested format to help us generate equally skilled pools for the kids.  Wrestlers may enter only ONE Division & Weight. They will always have a bracket they enter in. If necessary, we will enter them in other brackets to get them more matches with NO additional entry fee!  Wrestlers must weigh in with a regulation competition singlet on.  Hair and fingernail codes will be enforced by the Head Official and Tournament Director during event.  NO PLASTIC SWEATS ALLOWED before, during, or after tournament. This will result in DISQUALIFICATION.  Wrestling starts at 10:00AM Saturday Nov 11th.

PLACE: John Divine Hall, Perry High School Gymnasium 10th Street and Fir Avenue (Highway 64) Please do not stop along or park on Fir Avenue.

WEIGH IN: Wrestlers must weigh in with a singlet on. If required show hair cover & headgear. One weigh in only. Saturday morning Nov 11th in John Divine Hall on gym floor 6:00 AM - 7:30 AM (900 Fir Ave)

AWARDS: ( Assign one coach per team to pick up all your wrestlers medals & team awards ) Have an awards presentation at your next practice session for your kids to honor them !

( Brackets available for printing on www.FloWrestling.org ) In Every Division, Weight and Pool: 3 way ties – most falls least time. 2 way ties – heads up match determines placings.  Champion - gold wrestling medallion  Runner-up - silver wrestling medallion  3rd & 4th - bronze wrestling medallion  Only Pool 1 ( the highest skill level pool ) in each division and weight will earn OKWA Regional Race points posted on www.okwa.us

COACHES PASSES: Current season OKWA Coaches Badges honored. Submit coaches on www.okwa.us club management area for season badges. Coach Floor passes will be distributed in pre-tournament coaches meeting 9:00 AM. GENERAL RULES:  Child abuse, Abusive Language, Disorderly conduct, ETC., by anyone will NOT BETOLERATED, and will be dealt with severely.  Absolutely NO SMOKING or Smokeless tobacco allowed anywhere on school property.  Use of any TOBACCO PRODUCTS, prior to, during or after an event by coaches or contestants is flagrant misconduct and results in removal from the event, 2 team points deducted and no team points can be earned by that contestant.  NO FOOD OR DRINK on gymnasium floor area.  ONLY tourney personnel, wrestlers and coaches with passes allowed on the gym floor. We ask that coaches help us keep parents and fans in the bleacher section.

WRESTLING RULES:  Oklahoma Secondary School Association Rules except match length & out of bounds points.  45 minute rest between matches is NOT in effect  All officials will be O.S.S.A.A. carded. Their judgment and decisions will be final.  ONLY TWO COACHES allowed at mat-side per match. Stay off safety mat area!  After paging a wrestler to a mat, only two minutes will be allowed for his arrival before automatic default.  No shows and defaults will be considered as a loss for that match.

MATCH TIMES: All matches Division I,II,III,IV,V 1 minute - 1 minute - 1 minute Extension Periods as per National Federation Rules to break ties.

REMEMBER ALL POINTS, PENALTIES, CAUTIONS, AND WARNINGS CARRY OVER INTO THE OVERTIME & TIEBREAKER PERIODS.
