Pick-a-Fence Scoring
Riders may attempt the highest fence for their class. If they clear that successfully they proceed to the next fence. If they stop, then they must attempt a lower height. Only three attempts at the same obstacle are permitted, eg A,B, C / A, C,C / B,C,C, / C,C,C. Points are awarded for the fence successfully jumped. ‘A’ = 15 points, ‘B’ = 10 points and ‘C’ = 5 points. Should the rider refuse at an A jump and then instead of jumping the B jump, the rider has another attempt at the A jump then they are eliminated i.e. they must not present themselves at the same jump twice, with the exception of a C fence. No points will be awarded for jumping the incorrect fence for the class entered. A fall will result in a deduction of 30 points. Should they fail to negotiate a fence they will score no points but may continue to the next fence. Riders must give way to horses that catch up with them on the course but may proceed at a safe distance. There will be a timed section on the course. A horse /pony may only compete in one class, except if also entering pairs.
