Reports: 1. Housekeeping: Note-taker: Linda Jay 2. Student Updates: Scott, Enrique a. Scott - Attended SF Student Senate General Assembly, we are region 3, leadership is majority women, everyone in support, shocked more not going on in the bay, SRJC is not the only one lacking LGBTQ offerings, resolution passed for student escort to cars, Resolution for gender pronoun training passed without a peep, pronoun stickers were passed out to the event – and people ended up looking for others’ stickers to be addressed as they prefer. b. Scott - SRJC Student Government is using gender-neutral pronouns. c. Scott – one of the reasons trans students don’t attend lgb functions, is they don’t feel safe. Or welcomed. d. Enrique – looking for someone to attend meeting for homeless students. Looking for lgb representation for those students 3. Petaluma Update - Javier a. Bridges is having hard time creating flyers, mission statement, working with to get things set up at the Cultural Center, found that the new Intercultural Center does not have any requirement of a designated LGBTQ space, Been working with Sonoma State for the Trans March on Thursday 4. Abby: Drafting of Syllabus Language (See Attachment) a. LGBTQ Committee doing a fall PDA, in that workshop faculty will be addressed to insert non-binary language into their syllabi, expecting not everyone to accept change easily b. Javier – see’s first hand the difference of students who come from having support, or not. Using proper pronouns in classes is a huge support on a small scale, has data we can use to support the need for lgb support 5. Roam: Mira Costa College, LGBTQ College Consortium

a. http://www.ccclgbt.org 6. Phyllis - At the Senate Plenary – resolution data collection – KC Greany advocating getting info to no avail, not being released due to privacy issues, resolution approved with on opposition, 7. Roam – work from committee getting to be too much, should be a paid chair, not enough resources for what is requested, Should have a designated person to handle with LGBTQ issues, request to Chong for STNC, or reassigned time, we need to make a list of request of what we want, one faculty and STNC support is needed, 8. Abby – need to make a set plan – one year, two year, so we are plausible in what we are doing 9. Nick – we need to make ourselves valued, that is the way student clubs are recognized, allies are needed in other groups also 10. Group Discussion: If Matthew will no longer be with us and we will be having a single-chair, we will probably have to do some work to change the structure of our committee with the Academic Senate.
