TITLE: PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PLACEMENT – HOME BAKING

REPORTING TO: R&D TECHNOLOGIST

LOCATION: OFFICE BASED, LEEDS

JOB DESCRIPTION

PURPOSE OF ROLE

A great opportunity within the Research & Development team of Dr. Oetker Ambient to develop a strong skill base and solid experience with a fast growing and dynamic company.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

 Developing products from concept to launch in both Retail and Foodservice markets.  Execute sensory evaluation tests and analyse results.  To manage and analyse product performance over shelf life.  Responsible for application testing of products and usage instructions.  Preparing samples for internal and external presentations.  Preparing samples for project work around new business opportunities.  Responsible for daily running of the development kitchen.  Covering reception once a week to relieve receptionist at lunch.  Liaise with suppliers on specific project work.  Attend Product development meetings and update on projects responsible for.  Visit external suppliers to further knowledge of food industry and manufacture.  Attend trade exhibitions relevant to the company.  Supporting customer care line queries.  Assisting the development team as and when necessary to meet the demands of the business. - 2 -

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL Education  Currently studying for a degree in Food Science or equivalent

Work Experience  Practical knowledge of baking  Understanding of basic nutrition

Abilities  Evidence of ability to innovate and contribute new ideas relevant to the business.  Excellent communication and organisational skills.  Good presentation skills verbal and written.  Strong computer skills and ability to process and analyse data.

Personality  Strong team player who is self-motivated and enthusiastic.  Professional attitude in the work environment.
