Most schools offer a variety of scholarships and financial aid. Please check the websites of the schools you are interested in for more opportunities. The ones posted below have specifically sent a notice to the KHS College Room announcing the scholarship. To get these scholarships you must apply to and attend the school sponsoring the scholarship. New scholarships are highlighted in yellow.

Auburn University – Non-resident Scholarships Amount $6,000 - $16,000/year (renewable for 4 years) Deadline 1/15/15 Requirements Complete application due by 1/15/15 Eligibility Students must have a minimum 29 ACT or 1290 SAT and a 3.5 GPA. Clemson University – Lyceum Scholars Program Amount $10,000 over 4 years Deadline 12/8/14 Requirements Apply to Clemson and complete online scholarship application. Eligibility Students must be of higher intellectual caliber with high test scores and be interested in studying moral, political and economics foundations of a free society. Davidson College – Belk Scholarships Amount Four-year, full scholarship (8) along with 2 special study stipends Deadline 11/7/14 for nomination materials; 12/1/14 for admission application Requirements Nomination materials must be completed online by the counselor. Must also include official transcript and letter of recommendation. Eligibility High school senior applying to Davidson College. Notes Each high school may only nominate one or two students. Kansas State University – Wabash Cannonball Houston Scholarship Amount $5,000 Deadline Complete K-State general scholarship application by 11/1/14 and Wabash Cannonball Houston Scholarship by 12/1/14 Requirements Must be a resident of Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery or Waller counties. Eligibility Students must have a GPA of 3.25 or greater and be admitted to Kansas State University. Notes This Program is open to all majors. Santa Clara University – Johnson Scholars Program Amount Full tuition, room and board (renewable for 4 years) (10) Deadline Apply to the college by 1/7/15. No scholarship application required. Requirements Semi-finalists will be chosen mid-February and must complete an essay. Eligibility To be considered as a candidate, you should have a demonstrated record of high academic performance in a rigorous curriculum, an unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.8 or better, an ACT composite score of 30 or above, or an SAT combined score of 1400 in the Math and Critical Reading sections and evidence of leadership and service that permeates the high-school career

Sam Houston State University - High School Relations Scholarship Amount In state tuition and fees for 12 hours/semester (renewable for 4 years) Deadline 12/1/14 Requirements Complete admission application to UT-Dallas as well as application for the scholarship. Must provide 3 letters of recommendation. Eligibility To be eligible, you must be a Senior of a school chosen by Sam Houston State University, gain acceptance to the university, be in the top 30% of graduating class, provide letters from a teacher and from a counselor, compose an essay and attend in the fall of 2015. Skidmore College – Porter Presidential Scholarship in Science and Mathematics Amount $15,000/yr (renewable for 4 years) (5) Deadline 1/15/15 Requirements Complete Common App and check Porter Scholarship, provide a list of science and math oriented activities and honors, write an essay regarding science and mathematics (see website) Eligibility Candidates are selected by a faculty committee on the strength of their admissions applications (coursework in science and math, standardized test scores, teacher recommendations, and related pursuits beyond the classroom). Texas A&M – Regents’ Scholar Programs Amount $5,000/yr (renewable for 4 years) (600) Deadline 3/15/15 Requirements Complete application to Texas A&M and FAFSA. Eligibility Candidates must be first generation college students and have household income of $40,000 or less per year. Notes Website/contact https://scholarships.tamu.edu/regents.aspx UT- Dallas - The Eugene McDermott Scholars Program Amount All expenses (4 years) Deadline 11/7/14 (priority); 01/7/15 (regular) Requirements Complete admission application to UT-Dallas as well as application for the scholarship. Must provide 3 letters of recommendation. Eligibility Students who have the best chance of earning this scholarship will have: 1400 or higher on the two part SAT (verbal and math); 2100 or higher on the three part SAT; 32 or higher on the ACT; a class ranking in the top 5 percent of their graduating class; long records of community volunteerism and leadership in school; broad and eclectic interests in science, literature and the arts; social skills to interact easily with adults as well as peers.
