WSP124/16 Additional Litter Bins around the Town – update (see below)

The Clerk has received a telephone call from Teignbridge District Council following the request for additional Litter Bins around the town in the following locations:

 Teigngrace car park – 1 additional bin  Greenhill Way, corner of Hackney Lane has 1 already so we require 1 additional bin somewhere between there and Homebase on the main pathway.  Outside Lidl  To the rear of Homers Crescent gardens to be sited on the railings opposite the Costa site.

At the top of Tarrs Avenue next to our bench, the bin needs re-siting away from the bench, due to smell encountered whilst sitting on the bench.

The Clerk was informed that:

 Teigngrace Car Park - This land is owned by Emerys and permission is only given for one bin  Greenhill Way - The TDC Officer will look into the request for an additional bin on this stretch of road and come back to the Clerk with information  Lidl - There was originally a bin outside Lidl but this was damaged. TDC are out of stock of bins but when the next order is received, which is likely to be in the new financial year a bin will be positioned here.  Rear of Homers Crescent gardens to be sited on the railings opposite the Costa site - There was a bin here but the lid kept on being thrown in the stream so it was removed by TDC. TDC are happy to reinstate the bin in this location for a trial but if the lid is thrown in the stream it will then be removed. This should be replaced either 14 or 21 October, 2016.  Tarrs Avenue - The bin at this location was moved to nearer the bench following a request from the Town Council. The Clerk explained that now dog waste is also put in this bin it can be very smelly and TDC are asked to relocate it to further away from the bench. This will be done when the next lot of bins are fitted, which more than likely will be in the new financial year.
