AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY (Auto Mechanics): The program is based on the repair and maintenance of passenger and commercial vehicles. It is accredited by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation and includes the areas of brakes, electrical/electronic systems, engine performance, suspension and steering, automatic transmission, engine repair, heating and air conditioning, manual drive train and axles.

ALLIED HEALTH: Allied Health Technology is an Honors College Prep course designed for academic students who wish to pursue a career in the health care professions. This course is currently located at the work-based site of Mercy Suburban Hospital where students are supervised during clinical rotations in medical, surgical, support services, administrative and internships. This program is open to 11th and 12th grade students who meet the required prerequisites.

LANDSCAPE DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION: The Landscape Design & Construction Program offers hands on learning and will prepare students in all phases of landscape/hardscape design and installation, horticulture, nursery operations, and turf management. With an emphasis on residential home installation, students will learn the proper use of hand and power tools, skid loaders, construction materials, measuring and estimating, blueprint and plan reading, and jobsite safety.

COSMETOLOGY: Program includes hair design, manicuring, esthetics. Students will learn the anatomy of the head, face, hands and feet, as well as the theories of chemicals, coloring, sterilization, sanitation and safety.

THE BAKING AND PASTRY ARTS: Program is a three-year comprehensive program that covers the skills and knowledge needed to produce bakery items and operate a retail bakery operation. Students will have opportunities to demonstrate their skills in a student run bakery. There will also be opportunities for students to work at Central Montco Tech sponsored catering functions. Many third level students have participated in our school-to-work (Co-op) program, while working in local bakeries.

NETWORKING: The 4 semester course use proven networking curriculums that are refined and focused to teach the conceptual and technical skills to design, install, operate and maintain state-of-the-art computer networks.

PUBLIC SAFETY: Program designed to prepare students to enter careers related to Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical Service, Fire Science and Industrial Safety.

COLLISION REPAIR TECHNOLOGY (Auto Body): Collision Repair technicians are skilled workers who repair minor and major damage such as scratches, chips, dents, surface rust. Technicians also weld replacement panels with Resistance Spot Welders and MIG Welders. Technicians also replace damaged parts and estimate repairs. Painting & Refinishing Technicians use State of the Art Waterborne Paint Technology (PPG) Downdraft Spray Booth and Computerized Intermix Paint Mixing System, and conduct Custom Painting.

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION: Program is designed to train interested individuals in the care and education of young children in a safe, healthy and positive environment. The “teacher training” course emphasizes not only the art of attending to children’s basic needs but also how to organize activities that stimulate the children’s physical, emotional, intellectual and social growth.

CULINARY ARTS & RESTAURANT MGT: Program offers a cutting edge curriculum for all students interested in culinary arts, baking, restaurant management, safety, sanitation, and nutrition. Our kitchen and classrooms are updated and are state of the art. The program also has a student restaurant that is open to the public for lunch.

CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY: Program curriculum developed by the National Center for Construction Education and Research. First and second year students will rotate through carpentry/masonry, electricity, HVAC, and plumbing. The third year student may either continue the rotation or select a major in one of the areas.

HEALTH CARE SERVICES: Program designed to stimulate students’ interest in the health field. The course prepares students to enter the health care system as competent assistants to health care professionals, providing students with the necessary cognitive skills including communication methods, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology and the skills necessary for assisting in community health care facilities.

VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS (COMMERCIAL ART/DIGITAL IMAGING): Program emphasizes drawing and illustration. All new students are placed in the Foundation program, in which they are introduced to the proper use of various art tools and fundamental art and design concepts. Students are also introduced to photography and video using the most current technology. The Digital Media curriculum encompasses graphic design, digital imaging and web site design. A sequence of courses, beginning with Foundations of Digital Design, will provide students with a structure that will serve to sup- port personal and professional goals for enrichment and development. Third year students complete a portfolio consistent with their career plans and continuing education plans. Most of the students completing this program continue their education at the post-secondary level.
