Description and Objectives: This is workshop will introduce and discuss the history and importance of software standards. Several IEEE and ISO standards for system and software lifecycle processes, process/quality assessment, and software architecture will be described.
Workshop Topics: 1. History of Software and system development standards
2. Overview of the IEEE/EIA 12207 standard for Information Technology-software life cycle processes, and ISO/IEC 15288 The System Life Cycle Process 3. IEEE-Std-1471-200/ISO-42010 Recommended Practice for Architectural Description of Software-Intensive Systems. 4. PSP/TSP Processes for Software Development 5. ITIL Approach to IT Service Management
