Two Snatchers Caught Red Handed : Seven Cases of Snatching Registered in Sonepat (Haryana)

TWO SNATCHERS CAUGHT RED HANDED : SEVEN CASES OF SNATCHING REGISTERED IN SONEPAT (HARYANA) WORKED OUT

With the arrest of two accused namely Pardeep @ Gurri (20 years) s/o Hari Kishan r/o Village Bakner, near Holi Chowk, Narela, Delhi and Birju @ Vijay (18 years) s/o Jagdish r/o H. No. 97, Gali No.3, C- Block, Swarn Jayanti Vihar, Tikri, PS Alipur, Delhi, the staff of PS Narela worked out seven cases of snatching of PSs Civil Lines and Sonepat City (Haryana). One snatched gold chain and Motor Cycle (Black Pulsar) used in commission of crime recovered.

INCIDENT :

On 24.09.2010 at about 5.30 PM, Smt. Ritu w/o Sh. Manoj Kumar r/o Gali No. 12, Gautam Colony, near J.K. Farm, Narela, Delhi was passing through Narela Bus Terminal, meanwhile two motor cycle borne youths came and snatched her gold chain as well as tried to flee away from the spot. At the same time, Smt. Ritu shouted loudly to seek the help. SI Mohd. Yakoob and Ct. Mahender Singh 948/OD, who were coming from Village Sanouth heard the sound of lady and rushed towards the snatchers and overpowered one of the snatchers who was riding the motor cycle (Black Pulsar) bearing Registration No. DL-8S- NC-6420. Accused was identified as Pardeep @ Gurri s/o Sh. Hari Kishan r/o Village Bakner, near Holi Chowk, Narela, Delhi. The pillion rider managed to flee away with the snatched chain towards a narrow passage in Main Market, Narela but Const. Anand No. 1492/OD who was conducting patrolling nearby saw him and apprehended after chasing him. Snatched chain was recovered from his possession. He was identified as Birju @ Vijay s/o Sh. Jagdish r/o H. No. 97, Gali No. 3, C- Block, Swarn Jayanti Vihar, Tikri, PS Alipur, Delhi. In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 399/10 dated 24.09.2010 u/s 379/356/411/34 IPC PS Narela was registered.

INTERROGATION / MODUS OPERANDI:During the course of sustained interrogation, accused persons disclosed that they had been committing snatchings in the area of Narela (Delhi) and Civil Lines / city area of Sonepat (Haryana). They further disclosed that they are members of Rocky Gang and their gang leader is Pawan @ Rocky who is presently running in judicial custody. They also disclosed that after coming 5-6 snatching in Delhi, they used to sell the jewellery to Rakesh @ Tittoo (goldsmith) who runs a Jewellery Shop in the name of Sonu Jewellers in Bakner, Narela who is presently running in judicial custody for receiving the stolen property. Similarly, after committing the snatchings in Haryana, they used to dispose off the jewellery to goldsmiths in Haryana.

PROFIL OF ACCUSED PERSONS : 1. Pardeep @ Gurri (20 years) s/o Hari Kishan r/o Village Bakner, near Holi Chowk, Narela, Delhi is illiterate. He is married and having one daughter. He is also having mother, one brother and 6 sisters in his family. His brother namely Sonu is running in judicial custody in rape case. He is habitual of playing gamble and fond of wearing branded clothes / shoes as well as wants to spend luxurious life. He has no source of income to cater his day-to-day requirement of money. He came in contact of Pawan @ Rocky who was leading a snatcher gang and started to commit snatchings. 2. Birju @ Vijay (18 years) s/o Jagdish r/o H. No. 97, Gali No.3, C- Block, Swarn Jayanti Vihar, Tikri, PS Alipur, Delhi is illiterate. He is still unmarried. He is having father, mother, four brothers and one sister in his family. He is friend of Pradeep @ Gurri and also fond of playing gamble. Presently, he has no source of income. He followed the path of his friend Pradeep and started to commit snatchings. RECOVERIES MADE :

 Interstate gang of robbers busted  The gang specialized in robbing trucks  Several cases of dacoity, robbery, kidnapping and theft in Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan solved

The Crime Branch, Delhi Police has busted an interstate gang of robbers active in the NCR region. The gang specialized in robbing trucks. Several cases of dacoity, robbery, kidnapping and theft in Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan have been solved. The gang often kidnapped the drivers along with their trucks. The drivers were assaulted, tied up and dumped before their trucks were driven away by the gang. The arrested persons are:

1. Sanjeev Dahiya (42) r/o Saraswati Vihar, Delhi – He has a past criminal history and was found involved in more than 14 criminal cases including dacoity, robbery and theft. He is the leader of his gang. The gang intercepted commercial vehicles on the highway. They assaulted the truck drivers before taking the vehicles away. At least four criminal cases of dacoity, robbery, kidnapping and theft were found registered against the gang in Delhi, Rajasthan and Haryana.

2. Rahul @ Raj (20) r/o Shalimar Bagh, Delhi

3. Bijender @ Chhotu (20) r/o Hissar, Haryana

4. Bajrang @ Sunil (23) r/o Hissar, Haryana

HC Anil Kumar of Special Team, Crime Branch, Prashant Vihar, Delhi received information about Sanjeev Dahiya and his gang. A team led by Insp. Bhagwati Prasad including SI Ramesh Dabas, SI Dharmbir, SI Mohinder Singh, HC Anil Kumar, HC Krishan Kumar, Ct. Rupesh, Ct Harender Ct Praveen, Ct. Ajay Kumar Surender and Ct. Rajeev under close supervision of Sh Subhash Tandon ACP/ Special Team was formed to further develop this information. .

On 24.9.10 at about 02:00 pm, the police team finally managed to apprehend Sanjeev Dahiya and his gang near Pooth-Prahladpur Road, Sector- 24, Rohini, Delhi. One Tata-709 truck and a Tata Indica car were recovered from their possession. The Tata Indica car was used by the gang to commit robbery. The Tata 407 had been taken by the gang from the area of Welcome, Delhi.
