Quarterly Newsletter of Packington Agility Dog Society)

P.A.D.S. NEWS Quarterly Newsletter of Packington Agility Dog Society) October 2011

For those who don’t already know, our Website is now up and running and you can find it on www.packingtonagility.co.uk. You won’t be able to put your competition results on there until the New Year but that should then be relatively easy. The Newsletter will be reproduced on the website.

Hope all those who took part enjoyed Lee Windeatt’s training course and were able to incorporate at least some of his tips into your training. You do not have to follow everything you are shown at various training days – just take from them what applies to you and your dog.

CONGRATULATIONS to:

Beryl and Molly came 2nd in the Bitz ‘n Bobz Grade 0-1 Agility and in doing so qualified for the Final of the Suganoodle Sticker Stakes, which will be held at Bitz ‘n Bobs show on April 1st 1012. Ian Smith is coming to give a training day especially for Beginner/inexperienced dogs and handlers so this will be especially useful for those on the Beginners Course at the moment. Cost is only £15 per handler for 3 hours training in morning (9.00 – 12.00) or afternoon (1.00 – 3.00) on Sunday 13th November at Swallowfield, so please put your name down on the list at training. If you think you would benefit from this course and are not a beginner, it is perfectly OK for you to come along if there are places available. The course is limited to 8 dogs morning and afternoon so make sure you have your name down as this will be on a first come first served basis.

Competition Night and party Night on 16th December are again combined and we shall put a form up at training showing what food we would like to have for the evening, and which we hope you will tick, to show what sort of party food each member can bring - so that we don’t get 100 sausage rolls and nothing else!! Roger will be judging the competition which is the last one of the year to go towards the League and, consequently, the Annual Awards which are made at the AGM in March.

………………………………………..

The layout of Swallowfield arena has been changed somewhat so that there is more room for training. This means that you must enter the arena from the middle doors and not from the end ones as you have been doing. Both doors must remain closed during training to keep noise level down and it would be much appreciated if you could try and keep your dogs from barking and disturbing the resident family.

……………………………………………. That’s it for now apart from wishing Ann and Des good luck when they compete at Discover Dogs at Earls Court in November. None of us have ever been there before! Let’s hope Ann does better than when she was trying to take this hawk for a walk .
