33rd Annual North Carolina Summer School for Alcohol and Drug Studies Wilmington, NC July 26-30, 2010

Dear Colleagues and Community Members,

The North Carolina Regional Centers for Prevention Resources are pleased to sponsor a number of scholarships to the 33rd Annual North Carolina Summer School for Alcohol and Drug Studies. This year’s conference will take place on July 26th -30th in Wilmington, NC. Please visit the North Carolina Foundation for Alcohol and Drug Studies (NCFADS) website www.ncfads.org for more information regarding conference details and the agenda.

Each scholarship award will cover:  The cost of Full-Time on campus resident registration ($605). This includes room, board and the banquet fee.  Additional costs such as mileage, meals not included in the cost of tuition, extra nights at the hotel, incidentals, accommodations at other hotels, etc. will NOT be covered by the scholarship award. Applicants will need to make other arrangements for these expenses.

Please note recipients must register for and attend prevention related main and mini tracks in order for the scholarship to be honored. Please see next page for list of main and mini tracks being offered at this year’s Summer School.

Completed scholarship applications must be received no later than 5:00 PM on June 21, 2010. Please email or fax your application, narrative and reference(s) to Shawn Arledge at the Eastern CPR. Priority will be given to Prevention Professionals who are currently registered as CSAPCs or who are registered with the NC Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board and working towards prevention certification.

Applicants will be notified of their award status by email no later than June 28, 2010. Recipients will receive further instructions regarding conference registration at that time.
