eSolutions: DPD is bundling its online services and launching a developer platform n eSolutions provides shippers and developers with fast access to online solutions n DPD Cloud Print offers unique cloud-based parcel label printing n Newly-created developer platform promotes dialogue

Aschaffenburg, 09 October 2014 – International parcel and express service provider DPD has now grouped all its innovative online services for parcel shippers in a single portal entitled ‘eSolutions’. In addition to tried-and-tested tools such as MyDPD and Parcel Navigator users now for the first time also have the opportunity to create and print out parcel labels using a unique cloud-based solution – DPD Cloud Print. In addition eSolutions is available to all developers of software applications and DPD partners who wish to use the numerous web services and interfaces provided by the DPD systems, and need access to the parcel service provider’s documentations and test systems.

With a few intuitive clicks of the mouse DPD's eSolutions put both customers and developers in a position to receive access to the tools and IT systems they require. For parcel shippers it is above all the so-called ‘portal solutions’ which are essential. These include DPD Web Parcel, the online shipping tools MyDPD Business (for occasional shippers) and MyDPD Pro (for consignors with regular parcel volumes), Parcel Navigator, which is aimed primarily at consignees, and the Returns Portal.

DPD is breaking entirely new ground with its newly-created developer portal, which is also part of its eSolutions: “The codes and interfaces provided by us also enable external developers to link up with us and integrate DPD's online services in their own applications environment”, explains Michael Knaupe, Director Domestic B2C Products & Services at DPD. “In this respect our specialists as well as the DPD developer community are ready to provide external programmers with concrete support. We are convinced that opening up our IT systems to external developers will also provide important stimulus for the ongoing development of our own systems.”

Apart from the portal solutions and the developer platform, a number of different client solutions are also available to shippers. In addition to DELISprint, the programme for generating parcel labels for large shipping volumes, its DPD Cloud Print programme now for the first time also enables DPD to offer a flexible cloud-based solution for parcel label printing. DPD Cloud Print is a Windows application which is both simple and effective. In addition to recording individual shipping orders, the application also enables the uncomplicated management of the user's shipping history or an option for importing addresses.

A further important component of eSolutions is represented by a range of partner solutions, which above all enable e-shops to integrate DPD services quickly and simply into their own environment, enhancing their online shop with a shipping option and thus making it even more attractive. Among other services, shop operators will find plug-ins here for the flexible shop software Gambio and the Magento e-commerce platform. Many further plug-ins are currently being developed or are already available. Photo: DPD Cloud Print now enables simple and effective printing of parcel labels.
