Important Information:

Students should arrive to the bus stop 10 minutes before their scheduled pickup time.

Once the bus begins forward motion… the driver is unable to stop to let students on the bus.

St. Bernard-Elmwood Place School District is responsible for students once they board the bus, while families are responsible for the safety and supervision of their children to and from the bus stop, as well as while they are waiting for the bus. Also, remember that students should not change buses or stops as this may cause overcrowding on other routes. If you have any questions or concerns, please call 482-7121.

Students should not make a habit of missing the bus. The buses run on a very tight schedule. Our buses are assigned to multiple routes in the morning and afternoon, some going to two or more different schools. They have a limited amount of time to accomplish the task of pick up and returning children to school or home. Sometimes delays in these routes can be caused by traffic detours, traffic accidents, and most frequently delays at railroad crossings. Delays at railroad crossings can range from 5 – 15 minutes long and have a significant effect on the other stops.

Parents please be advised that routes are written to utilize the space available on the bus. We will try to space these stops an equal and fair distance apart. By state law, we can ask any student to walk up to five-tenths of a mile to or from a bus stop.
