Nature and Purpose of Agency St. Mary's mission is to improve the health and quality of life for children with special needs and life-limiting conditions and their families. St. Mary’s is New York's largest and most experienced provider of long-term care to children with medically complex conditions and New York's City's only post-acute care facility for children.
Tasks Available for Students Volunteers are needed for recreational Activities, homework help, socialization, medical day care and more.
Time Requirements 15 students Young Adults (18-26) Monday-Friday 9-2

Agency Directions Public Transportation 7 train to Flushing IRT to Main Street Flushing. – (BUS) Q13 Bus (Fort Totten Bus) to 29th Ave. & Bell Blvd. Walk East (Toward water) on 29th Ave. to 216th Street and Hospital entrance.
Driving Directions
KC 1/28/16 From Manhattan Midtown Tunnel to LIE East (495 East); Exit Clearview Expressway North (295 North). Proceed on Clearview to Exit 6A, 35th Ave. At first light, turn right onto 35th Ave. Turn left at the third light onto Bell Blvd. Turn right onto 29th Ave. and proceed down 29th Ave. to Hospital entrance / parking.
From Long Island LIE West (495 West) to Clearview Expressway North (295 North). Proceed on Clearview to Exit 6A, 35th Ave. At first light, turn right onto 35th Ave. Turn left at the third light onto Bell Blvd. Turn right onto 29th Ave. and proceed down 29th Ave. to Hospital entrance / parking.
From Westchester / Bronx I 95 South (or Hutchinson River Parkway South) to Throgs Neck Bridge; Proceed onto Clearview Expressway South. Take first exit, 26th Ave. Turn left at the light at end of exit ramp onto 26th Ave. Proceed to Bell Blvd and make a right. Then turn left onto 28th Ave, Turn right onto 216th Street and proceed to Hospital entrance / parking.

Nature and Purpose of Agency Volunteers at Ozanam Hall perform many valuable services and give of themselves in numerous ways to better the quality of life for our residents, both physically and spiritually.
Tasks Available for Students Assist residents with feeding through our Loving Spoonful Program and help nursing staff clean up after patients are done feeding.
Time Requirements Monday – Sunday Breakfast: 7:30am-8:30am Lunch: 12pm-1pm Dinner: 5:30pm-6:30pm
**Students can come to the floors at 10am, 2pm and 7pm to help with activities
Student Awareness/Special Instructions **Orientation will be given by Dr. Colodny date to be determined.
Orientation is given on Tuesdays at 3:30 from the second week in September until the end of June, or 2:00 during the summer months of July and August.
1. Students must complete an application (available in the Office of Academic-Service Learning) and bring it to the Clinic Office at Ozanam on the 2nd Floor along with your Certificate of immunization(s), specifically Measles, Mumps and Rubella. You must have a recent PPD (tuberculosis test) bring results of your PPD, or we offer the test at our Clinic (2nd Fl.) Students medical information can be found in the Health Office in DaSilva.
2. NYS Department of Health has implemented that every volunteer must get the flu vaccination. Documentation of vaccination must include the name and address of
KC 1/28/16 the individual who ordered or administered the vaccine and the date of vaccination. This must be given to the nursing home before starting service
3. Complete the Health Assessment form at the Clinic on the 2nd Floor. The Clinic (2nd floor) is open to volunteers: Tues, 8:30 to 12:00, 1:00 to 3:30
4. Review the Orientation Packet you receive from the Development Office (on C) and attend the mandatory orientation.
Students must be dressed in business casual clothing. NO JEANS or SNEAKERS. Volunteers will receive on-site training. Also, if students are not sure of any situation at anytime during the visit to reach out to the nurse or administrator at the home
