Instructions: Say to the student “Tell me everything you remember about the story from start to finish. Pretend that I have never read the book.”

Instructional Strategy: Prior to reading the story, supply a mini lesson on story structure explaining that every story includes the following parts: plot, problem, sequence of events, outcome and theme. Story Structure. Prior to reading the book, let the student take a picture walk through the book and predict what happens. While reading answer and ask questions.

Problem: The football team was horrible and the school was depressed about how bad they were
Solution: Stop the football team from playing around during practice through hiring Coach Swamp
