Read Aloud 2: Miss Nelson Has A Field Day by James Marshall</p><p>Instructional Strategy: Prior to reading the story, supply a mini lesson on story structure explaining that every story includes the following parts: plot, problem, sequence of events, outcome and theme. Story Structure. Prior to reading the book, let the student take a picture walk through the book and predict what happens. The real Coach swamp shows up</p><p>6. Coach swamp makes football players practice hard</p><p>7. Mr. Blandsworth puzzled as to who miss swamp is</p><p>8. Coach Armstrong returns and is surprised by how well the football team plays</p><p>9. Tornadoes beat the Werewolves- Students when the game</p><p>10. Mr. Blandsworth treats the team to hot dogs at Lulu’s</p><p>Problem: The football team was horrible and the school was depressed about how bad they were</p><p>Solution: Stop the football team from playing around during practice through hiring Coach Swamp</p><p>Sequence – retells story with beginning middle and end and lists events in order.</p><p>Probe Questions:</p><p>3.
