 Salsette R/S:- 110 kV Sal-Vik CT commissioned  Kalyan R/S:- 22kV Transfer breaker # 1 commissioned  Dharavi R/S:- New Siemens VCB for Feeder 55 commissioned Equipment  ST4 LV breaker commissioned 3 Carnac R/S:- Commissioning.  Parel R/S:- New ABT meters for Railways feeders  Bhira G/S:- 03 nos checkmeter commissioning on 110 KV lines & transfer bkr for Ex- bus energy metering

 TPCL:- UF & UFLS frequency revised as per CEA guide line  Salsette R/S:- 1. 110 kV KKS 2 line islanding scheme and carrier scheme commissioned 2. 22 kV Num o/c relay commissioned for MSEB 1  Saki R/S:- Protection 1. 110 kV Numerical Dir o/c relay commissioned for Transfer Breaker 2. 22 kV Numerical o/c relay commissioned for VP1/MIDC1, AP2/Chakala-2, 4 System / relays AP1/MIDC3 Commissioning.  Kolshet R/S:- 22 kV Numerical o/c relay commissioned for Thane-2, Thane- 1, KMKB-1, KMKB-2.  Dharvai R/S: - 22 kV Rly fdr # 33, 35, 37 Relay replacement  Khopoli G/S:- 22 KV Pipeline feeder SIEMENS make numerical o/c protection (7SJ600)commissioning.  Trombay A: - 22 kV 7SJ600 relay commissioned on 4 feeders 5 Metering  6 nos ABT meters were commissioning in series with the existing billing activities meters for REL at Chembur , Malad, Versova & Borivali.  Commissioned STU meter in series with the existing MSEB billing meter at Kolshet.  Pre-commissioning & Post-commissioning checks carried on PMGP feeder of BESTat Dharavi after breaker retrofitting.  Modification carried out in in BEST metering circuit due to retrofitting of Raoli (Feeder 49) breaker at Dharavi.  Defective meter at Goregaon Spoerts club - 1no was replaced.  Billing Meters at Goldmohor & Wallace flour mills were re-commisssioned after Sub Station relocation.  3 nos Check meters at Infinity towers & 2 nos Check meters at Eureka Towers were tested as a part of Energy Audit.  1 no meter each at Mafatlal & Vitrum were programmed for TOD tariff.  CTs were replaced due to load enhancement at Premier lighting, Gitco, Ion America, Mature trading & Oxford chambers.  Inspection of 100 nos ABT meters was carried out at Elster Daman factory.  Amresh Mishra attended 5 day course on "Power pilferage & detection" at ESCI, Hyderabad.  Joint meter testing along with MSEB in Tromaby lab for three terminal Kalwa- Salette-Kalyan line.  MF verification carried out for TPC-D meters.  AMR activities- 1).GSM Modems are installed for six number TVMs at Pantheon,Prudential,Cap Gemini,Zenta and Marsek Infotech. 2) DCUs were installed in Enclosuers at Aditi, S.L.Maneklal,Center point,Shreeji industries and Premier chemicals. Permanent supply to DCU is being arranged at above sites with the help of concerned divisions.  MSEB data collection for calculating UI charges.  BEST, REL & RCF data collection for calculating the co-incident MD.

D. MAJOR OCCURRENCES & INVESTIGATION: -

DIVISION OCCURRENCES / INVESTIGATION Salsette R/S  29/11/2007, 110 kV PT 2 smoke came while charging, Diaphgram has burst further investigation is on. Dharavi R/S  12/11/2007, Trf # 5 tripped, Trf # 5 Tripped on Differential Protection, Fault on 22 kV cable Ambernath  8/11/07, 22 kV Wimco-1 O/C relay Target faulty, Relay Target flag adjusted R/S  21/11/07, NR-3 E/F relay spring found in out of shape, Relay replaced by spare one.  18/11/07, SAT-2 LT breaker failed to open electrically, Trip coil ckt found open due to Bhivpuri G/S dry soldering of series resistance.  23/11/07, Unit-11 Own breaker failed to close, GT side GOD contacts used in series of close command found defective. Chola R/S  19, 20 & 22/11/07, 25kV LA’s (04 no) bursting at C.Rly Tamal maad traction substation, Under investigation. Versova R/S  18 & 24/11/07, 90MVA Trf-1 Tripping on Differential protection during 33 kV Juhu-1 feeder fault, Aux CT is defective Carnac R/S  09/11/07, ND1 feeder tripped withour any relay action, There was actual fault but relay targets not appeared due to defect. Relays to be replaced.  02/11/07, Mankurd, 1250KVA Transformer at BARC Western Sector Transformer tripped with out any indication of relay action. Transformer tested ok. All relays trial operation tried ok. Control circuit megger ok. Oil DGA ok. Transformer was taken into service  12/11/07, Tata ISP, 1250KVA transformer of Consumer, Transformer tripped by moisture ingress into HT cable compartment. After consumer completed the work, transformer and test report inspected and cleared for service  17/11/07, Wockhardt, 2 MVA transformers LT breaker, CSR2 circuit one wire was found loose and ground connection found open. This was corrected and transformer taken into service. Distribution  18/11/07, Rangsharda, 630KVA transformer, Transformer tripped with out any indication of relay action. After checking for gas collection in buchholtz and meggering, transformer test charged ok and taken into service.  20/11/07, NSE, LT breakers, LT breakers of 1250KVA transformers were tripping intermittently on O/V or U/V relay action. Investigation and rectification in progress  23/11/07, Dehisar, 20MVA DT-1, Due to oil leak from HT bushing, oil from conservator got drained below buchholtz and transformer tripped on buchholtz. After filling oil and meggering, transformer was taken back into service.  26/11/07, Reservoir, 10MVA DT-2, RTCC was not functioning, attended ELECTRICAL TESTING AND AUTOMATION DIVISION Page No. 4 of 10 MONTHLY ACTIVITY REPORT MONTH: November YEAR: 2007

TMK: Meeting with ABB to finalise protection details for Trombay Unit-5 Gen 4 Trombay stn A protection panels, on 5, 6/11/07 TMK: Attended Global Compact committee meeting on 13 & 27/11/07 for 5 preparation of Progress report for 2007.

6 Delhi TMK: Attended CIGRE India Protection & Automation conference on 21,22/11/07

7 Carnac TMK, AM, SKP: Doble presentation on Relay testing on 30/11/07

New Different Better  110 kV KKS 2 line taken  22 kV Feeder Electromechanical o/c relay into service as three replaced by Numerical relays at Saki, terminal line Salsette, kolshet.  110 kV Lines Electromechanical Dir o/c relay replaced by Numerical relays at Saki.

J. MAN POWER DEVELOPMENT / ADMINISTRATION:-

 Mr G T Jawale Attended 4th Tata Group Young Leaders seminar at TMTC, Pune  Mr P K kachhawa attended One day Workshop on “Business writing skills” on 21/11/07 at Hotel Leela, Andheri, Mumbai.  Mr S S Dikay, Attended Doble power seminar at jaipur between 14/11 to 17/11/07. Nov ‘07 Modifications There were two calls for modification of Borivali SCADA database / mimic points. Project activities  Order has been placed for Mahalaxmi GIS & 22KV SCADA RTUs on AREVA, SCADA drawings for RTU General arrangement & equipment data sheets are being approved after due discussions.  Quotations have been received from various SCADA Vendors for Dharavi, Malad & Versova RTU replacements, they are being studied.  Order has been placed on Honeywell for upgradation of Bhivpuri & Khopoli Harris RTUs from D200 to D200ME with IP connectivity, Distribution Local testing of Distribution Automation RTUs ordered under Ph. IIB is under progress at Automation Saki & Borivali with the modems available. Visiontek modem is found suitable for Distribution Automation as an alternative to TATA Indicom modems. Commissioning-  Gateway configuration for Satellite stations is in progress. ABB Engineers are LDC SCADA configuring gateways for Carnac & Trombay SCADA. CA, PA & CI tasks Nil EPM process The SCADA Benchmarking data received from NDPL is being compiled & a meeting benchmarking is being arranged with REL as a second Benchmarking partner to discuss the SCADA maintenance process.  A three day training (22-11-07 to 24-11-07) on hardware & Software aspects of Distribution automation was conducted by ABB at Dharavi CCR. Ms. Deepa Joshi, Mr. Varun Thakur & Mr. Aditya Sainath from SCADA group attended the same along with 3 other Engrs. From division.  Ms. Deepa Joshi attended a two day tutorial on IEC 61850 conducted by CBIP at Delhi on 19th and 20th Nov ‘07
