“A” Team Report by Jim Pettigrew
The way the fixtures have worked out this year for the TCBC A Team meant that it was always going to be a tough start for us with four of our first five matches played against Shaldon, Kings and Newton Abbot. the top three teams in the Premier Division. And so it has proved. However we did extremely well to take four points away from Shaldon on their Green, played well with no reward away to Kings and Newton Abbot and had a great “last bowl, last end, last rink” 8-6 at home to Newton Abbot. We have also enjoyed a good 10-4 win at home against newly promoted Babbacombe. To summarise, in the league, we have played five, won two, lost three matches and have collected 22 points to date in total. We are currently in sixth place – the same position as we finished last year.
We won our 1st round Foxlands Cup match against Brixham Furzeham by a single point but lost After a wet morning and afternoon the weather heavily in the 2nd round against Torquay. In the improved so much that we could cook outside in the Top Club Trophy away to Brixham St Marys, we dry. lost 3-2. Ross our latest BBQ recruit. That’s the price you pay “One can?
