1. Introductions
2. Higher Learning Commission
- Evaluated different sections of the document
- Each section was broken down into 10 pages and covered by different members of the committee
- Discussed additions to The Honors Program or Student Government Association
- Did not complete all sections, suggestions or corrections can be made to this document if needed
3. Western vs. Non Western History and Writing Intensive Courses
- Discussed having a day where these two issues could be addressed on the same day in back to back sessions
- Exact dates yet to be determined
- Will hold two sessions either Monday and Tuesday or Tuesday and Wednesday to accommodate people who can not make one of the meetings due to prior commitments.
- Approval was given by the Committee to move this on to the next step

1. Announcement - John McHale will serve on the Academic Planning Committee
2. Writing across Curriculum/Global Studies meeting. Met with secretary and chair. Email sent out to get the faculty talking about these issues. Approving process is main goal for Academic Affairs Committee. Will be informed of progress along the way. Discussion to be continued at the next.
3. Two degrees - when a student has two majors for example: physics and music 30 hours beyond first degree. A student who receives 120 credit hours may return to work for another 30 credit hours and receive a second degree. One can stay for a 5th year and graduate with 150 hours with two degrees at once.
SIU Eastern more specific about what degrees can be granted
Given approval from Academic Affairs Committee to move forward on this issue.
4. ReggineNet problems? Limitations for gradebook to be discussed. More discussion with specific focus on campus wide survey of professors and possibly students too at the next meeting.
5. Reading Week Discussion to be continued.

· Frustration with gradebook
· Next step is to create a survey
· Plan to create a survey for both students and faculty
· Send possible questions for surveys to Senator Gizzi by Sunday October 19th.
2. Granting two Degrees
· Revision was made to wording
· Possible conflict occurred with Freddie’s example of BA/BS degree in Psychology
3. Global Studies
· Need three hours to meet the global studies requirement
· Possible guests coming to talk to us during our meeting
· Major concern Global vs. Western

1. November 11th/12th Global Studies Forum 2. ReggieNet -Discuss more at next meeting - Questions/concerns added from committee - Additional comments send to Senator Gizzi - There will be a student and faculty survey -Gradebook seems to be the biggest issue
3. Honor Distinction - Changing the requirement from 50 hours to 30 hours - This will help transfer students 4.. - the right questions are being asked and this is a work is in progress

3. Academic Affairs Task List for 2014-2015
- Looking over requirements/what we do
- Breakdown of events over the years
- Working on specific dates or certain time of the year projects need to be completed
- Changed some due dates to Early Fall or late Spring instead of an exact date
- The Chair of AAC will update the task list and sent it to Cynthia James.

- 14-16 catalog is up and running

Report: E. Paula Crowley, Chair 1. Edtpa - Open Forum March 19th Room 118 Alumni Center - Important to keep in mind for education majors - ISU preliminary data indicate that Task 3 is difficult for our students (assessment)
2. Task List - Looked over and briefly discussed topics - Many items completed and others currently in progress - Several Information items for tonight’s meeting
3. Academic planning Annual Report pending.
4. Library Committee - Suggestion box, next Monday - Looking for what to improve for students
5. Credit/No Credit - Last looked at in 2011 - Revised (Pass/No Pass) - Now updated
6. Monday/Wednesday - Survey March 2013 - Many courses shifting from 3 days to 2 days a week - Many Pros/Cons for this change Adjournment - John McHale moved and Connor Joyce seconded. All agreed.

Chairperson E. Paula Crowley called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m.
Approval of the minutes from 3/11/15 - Isaac Dallas moved and 2nd - Michaelene Cox. Minutes approved unanimously.
1. Edtpa a. Worried about people knowing about this requirement in Fall 2015 in departments across the ISU campus.
2. Library Committee a. Will have a representative come speak with us next meeting
3. Non- traditional Constituents a. Policy not ready to go yet, needs to be rewritten – complete overhaul needed. b. This item will be carried over into the fall
4. Course Management Software a. Carried over to next fall b. Working with CTLT
5. Verification of Student Identity Policy a. Same as it has always been b. Time to be reviewed, five years old c. No real changes need to be made, ready to go forward
6. Classroom Disruption Policy 4.1.17 a. Few minor corrections, grammatical changes b. Emergency suspension section- change to in which c. Student or other individual d. Will be resubmitted to Executive committee
7. University Library Policy a. Grammatical errors corrected b. If you receive a Milner card you can check out books c. Concerns about the wording of surrounding citizens
8. Policy on Computer Ownership: a. Correcting typos b. Recommend a lab top, not required c. Software standards may change with improving technology d. Remove “fall semester of 2005 …” e. Many options for getting a computer are available. 9. Monday/Wednesday Data: a. No overwhelming wishing for change b. Reworking several sentences c. Will be recirculated to Exec Committee
10. Sale of Instructional materials: a. Can go forward b. Contract was written to incorporate the policy we were given
