HOTEL We will be staying at the Thwaite Solent Hotel, Fareham which is nestled between mature woodland and Ancient meadowland and has a Spa and indoor swimming pool. There is a lift and we will be staying on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis. www.thwaites.co.uk
INCLUDED ITINERARY Day 1. Journey south to Hampshire. Day 2. We will be spending a full day exploring Portsmouth Historic Dockyard visiting H.M.S Victory, H.M.S Warrior and the award winning Mary Rose Museum and a 45 minute harbour cruise. Day 3. We take a ferry from Southampton to Cowes on the Isle of Wight where we will visit Godshill on our way to Ventnor Botanical Gardens. Later to Osborne House, Queen Victoria's magnificent retreat. Day 4. Hinton Ampner House will be our destination today. This elegant Georgian house is surrounded by beautiful gardens with fine vistas along the terraces and across the South Downs. The afternoon will be spent in the historic town of Winchester, capital of the ancient Kingdom of Wessex and a chance to visit the famous Cathedral and explore the city. Day 5. We return home.
