The AIDS epidemic is one that is reaching every home and family in America. This is an issue we all need to be concerned with. (Relate to audience)

First, I will explore how the HIV virus began. Second, I will show how HIV has spread and finally the effects of HIV on our society. (Preview)

This illness is affecting us in a quiet yet vehement manner and has very few warning signs. (Relate to audience)
