COMMITMENT STATEMENT

If I am selected as a member of the QUANTITATIVE REASONING FACULTY WORKGROUP, I agree to participate fully in the program’s activities:

 Teach a class in the Spring 2015 quarter that intentionally address quantitative reasoning.  Meet once during the winter quarter and twice in the spring quarter, including at least one extended session for the purpose of evaluating student work.  Provide a final group report covering findings on the development and use of rubric, and recommendations for larger scale implementation and sustained use of the tools.  Provide an individual reflective statement.  Share findings at appropriate campus venues such as the University General Education Assessment Committee meeting, a department or college meeting, the Faculty Center for Professional Development, and the Provost’s Symposia.  Share findings at appropriate off-campus venues including the Annual Western Assessment Conference, the WASC Annual Resource Conference, and the AAC&U G.E. Conference.

If I am selected to be the leader of the QUANTITATIVE REASONING FACULTY WORKGROUP, I agree to:

 Schedule the meetings for the workgroup.  Facilitate the assignment and collection of assignments.  Lead the writing of the final group report.  Collect the individual reflective statements.  Report periodically to the GE Assessment Committee on the progress of the work group.
