NON-PROFIT TO DONATE TRICYLES TO VETERANS AT VA MEDICAL CENTER

National AMBUCS, Inc. will donate six AmTryke therapeutic tricycles to the Jack C. Montgomery VA

Medical Center (JCMVAMC) on May 31, which will be used by Veteran patients as a form of recreation and physical therapy.

Two of the six tricycles will be donated this Friday to the Rehabilitation unit at JCMVAMC’s

Tulsa clinic for all Veterans to use. Another one will be presented to a Veteran who receives his care at the Tulsa clinic as well. The other tricycles will be presented to three Veterans at the Muskogee hospital at 2 p.m. in the Downing Room, which is located on the second floor of the hospital.

JCMVAMC’s Rehabilitation Service selected the Veterans receiving the tricycles based upon their disability.

AMBUCS, Inc. is a non-profit organization with approximately 140 volunteer chapters in 30 states. Their mission is to create mobility and independence for people with disabilities. Earlier this year, the organization donated two tricycles to JCMVAMC on March 26.

Kent Clingenpeel, President of AMBUCS, Inc., said the donations are made possible through the organization's fundraising efforts.

"Our whole goal is to help people who are disabled, so that's what we do as an organization," said Clingenpeel. "We believe that our Veterans should have every opportunity to be engaged in the active lifestyle they had prior to their disability."
