Correction Number CP-251xxx Log Summary: Addition of DISCONTINUED reason to MPPS Type of Modification Name of Standard Addition PS 3.3, 3.4, 3.6 2000 Rationale for Correction When an MPPS N-SET Request message is received containing a status of ‘DISCONTINUED’ the SCP does not know the reason for the termination of the procedure. Possible reasons include: the device has malfunctioned; the procedure has been interrupted so that a different procedure can be done; the procedure is being canceled. It is proposed that an optional attribute be added to the Performed Procedure Step Information Module so that this information can be communicated. Following is a list reasons for termination of a procedure step: 1. Doctor cancelled 2. Incorrect exam 3. Patient allergic to media/contrast 4. Patient expired 5. Patient refused 6.
