Caring for your CUT CHRISTMAS TREE

 Choose a tree that is shedding a minimal amount of needles when shaken.

 Cut off ½” of the trunk shortly before placing in your stand so the sap seal is broken and your tree can take up water.

 Provide plenty of water. Your stand should hold a quart of water for every inch of trunk diameter. Don’t be surprised if your tree takes up to a gallon of water on the first day.

 Keep tree away from heat sources, such as heater vents and fireplaces. Be sure to turn off your lights when you’re not at home.

 Whether you choose a cut or living tree, it is a good idea to place a large saucer under your tree to protect your flooring.
