CONDON, OF CHARLESTON COUNTY, FOR HIS YEARS 13 OF SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF OUR STATE, AND TO 14 CONGRATULATE HIM FOR HIS ELECTION AS THE 15 PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL COLLEGE OF PROBATE 16 JUDGES. 17 18 Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly 19 are grateful for the fourteen years during which the Honorable 20 Irvin G. Condon has served as the probate judge for Charleston 21 County and are pleased to learn that he has been elected as the 22 president of the National College of Probate Judges; and 23 24 Whereas, Irvin Condon earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting, 25 magna cum laude, from Clemson University and worked for Price 26 Waterhouse for three years before going to the University of South 27 Carolina School of Law where he earned a juris doctor degree; and 28 29 Whereas, prior to being elected as the probate judge in Charleston 30 County in November 1994, he was a shareholder in the law firm of 31 Rosen, Rosen & Hagood, P.A., in Charleston; and 32 33 Whereas, Judge Condon started and presides over the Charleston 34 County Adult Drug Court and led the planning team for the 35 Charleston County Mental Health Court. He also has been a 36 faculty member for the National Drug Court Institute and the 37 National Judicial College; and 38 39 Whereas, a member of the Charleston County Bar Association, the 40 South Carolina Bar, and the American Bar Association, he is also a 41 member of the South Carolina Association of Probate Judges and 42 the National College of Probate Judges, the National Academy of

1 [5259] 1 1 Elder Law Attorneys, the South Carolina Association of Drug 2 Court Professionals, and the National Association of Drug Court 3 Professionals; and 4 5 Whereas, during his distinguished career this outstanding South 6 Carolinian also served as the past president of the South Carolina 7 Association of Probate Judges and the South Carolina Association 8 of Drug Court Professionals and as a board member of the 9 National Guardianship Association; and 10 11 Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly 12 are indebted to the Honorable Irvin G. Condon for the integrity and 13 vision which has marked his career as Charleston County’s probate 14 judge and wish him much success as the president of the National 15 College of Probate Judges. Now, therefore, 16 17 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate 18 concurring: 19 20 That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this 21 resolution, recognize and commend the Honorable Irvin G. 22 Condon, of Charleston County, for his years of service to the 23 citizens of our State, and congratulate him for his election as the 24 president of the National College of Probate Judges. 25 26 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to 27 the Honorable Irvin G.
