Leonardo da Vinci VETPRO STUDY VISITS PROGRAMME, November 14 th .-18 h . 2011, Brussels/Flanders, Belgium.

Competento – the Flemish Knowledge Centre on Entrepreneurial Education1 - is organizing an international study visit to show an international public of trainers, training managers and policy developers the state of the art on Entrepreneurial Training and Education in Flanders.

The study visit will take place from Monday, November 14th. to Thursday, November 17th. Participation at the Flemish biannual fair on entrepreneurial education is included. The fair as well as the showcases as presented during the study visit will give an overview on how Flanders is moving on in terms of development and implementation of Entrepreneurial Education policy and strategies.

As Flanders is on the verge of the implementation of a renewed Action Plan on Entrepreneurial Education, we want to offer our international stakeholders the possibility to have a taste of these exciting times as well. Participation at the Study Visit is free of charge, however, participants have to take care of their own travel and subsistence costs. The working language of the study visit will be English.

DAY 1 Monday, 14th of November 2011

Theme: The role of Competento and Brainstorming

An overview by Bart De Geeter and Nick Hautekees (Competento) 12h30- SEET: SEET is a European transnational network, bringing together people and organisations, interested 12h45 in Entrepreneurial Education and Training. The network aims to improve the valorisation and dissemination of policies, methods and instruments to stimulate entrepreneurship in (vocational) education and training and to enhance the transfer of entrepreneurial competences to young people and adults.

By Paul Schram (DBO) 11h00 Coffee Break -11h15 11h15 Presentation ECE project ECE - European Commitment to Entrepreneurship -12h15 This European project wants to enlarge the trading possibilities of young entrepreneurs in secondary schools, educational institutions and companies and this to let young people get acquainted with the European context of entrepreneurship. With the introduction of this project we want to stimulate initiative and performance, linked to all entrepreneurial skills to make young people aware, through concrete practice possibilities of the importance of these skills, throughout a further career and life long learning.

by Nathalie Bryssinck (DBO) 12h15 Lunch -13h15 13h15 Visit at Centre for Entrepreneurship in Ghent -16h30 The Centre for Entrepreneurship wants to build bridges between University College Ghent and (candidate) entrepreneurs. In this way, University College Ghent students will gain practical experience while (candidate) entrepreneurs will be supported in these tough times.

The assignments carried out by the Centre for Entrepreneurship will either be performed by experts or by students who are guided and coached by experienced consultants from inside or outside University College Ghent.

If need be, the Centre for Entrepreneurship will also provide infrastructure to (candidate) entrepreneurs, such as furnished office space, conference rooms, etc. A (candidate) entrepreneur can thus start and/or grow under supervision in a professional and affordable environment.
