They also write lyrics that go with the theme of the song and album. A music producer has many different positions. While the artists are recording, they are the ones who are watching the artist record, and they give tips and opinions to how they have recorded. Some music producers also coach other artists and musicians with vocal and instrumental lessons. Where did you get this information? Since grade six, it was my passion and hobby to produce music, sing and rap. I loved creating my own music and doing something I love. Since then, I have been researching about music, vocal, rap, producers, and many more things related to music. So I have all these information in my head. What education or training is required for this career or job? To become a music producer, you don’t really need much education or training like other jobs. But you have to be familiar with music and producing machines. The most common degree level that most music producers have is the Bachelor's degree in music production. Like I said, the degree field(s) you need is music producing or music. You should have a little experience with being a recording engineer, and you should have the basic skills with working with thing related to music, audio equipment and software. You should also be musically creative in order to advance and improve artist’s songs. You should also be able to make relationships quickly, because you will have to meet many different artists. You should know different types of vocabulary and rhymes in order to make catchy yet unique lyrics. There aren’t any qualifications to become a music producer; in fact lots of music producers have got low marks for their academic marks. Music producer is a great job to choose if you are passionate about music and doesn’t want a job that requires lots of requirements and high academic marks. Where can you get this education training? Identify at least two places. It is different for each people and where they have finished off their education. There are people who only went through some high school, just high school, some college, got their college degree, etc. But for this case, let’s say you have finished college. You can go to “The Art Institute of Seattle” which is in Seattle, Washington. But there is also the “Texas State University” which is in San Marcos, Texas. What are the entrance requirements to one of the educational institutions that you identified? The Texas State University has a few general entrance requirements. First, you must be 18 years or older, or have finished high school and earned a high school diploma. You must apply and be accepted to Texas State University if interested in earning a degree from a specific program at Texas State. Also, you must apply and be accepted to TSIE if only interested in improving academic English. You must attend all advising, orientation, and placement testing meetings administered by the Admission Office, TSIE, and/or the International Office after accepting the offer to study at Texas State University. You must maintain contact each semester with the Undergraduate Admission Office (if an undergraduate student) or the Graduate College (if a graduate student) and all program advisors to address any changes in information and/or plans of study. It is required to maintain 85% or higher attendance rate during each semester at TSIE per the requirements of studying under the conditions of an F-1 Student Visa. Must maintain a grade of "C" or higher in all classes, including TSIE classes, if studying under an undergraduate Bridge contract; must maintain an average of "B" or higher in all TSIE and academic coursework if studying under a graduate Bridge contract. What is an option if you cannot meet the entrance requirements or are not interested in attending university? Like I said, you don’t need professional education to become a music producer. Yes it is good to go to university and get education to get the job, but it isn’t necessary. Even if you’re taught how to produce music by yourself at home, if you can work with music and know how to use the audio equipments, you can become a music producer. But you probably won’t get paid much as the professional producers, and won’t get to produce many songs. Producing music isn’t that hard, and it’s more of the experiments than the education. The education is important, but for producing music you just have to know how to produce music. Once you know the basics, it’s very easy to continue on with the professional skills even if you’re self-trained. What are the opportunities or future prospects for the career or job (indicate if the information is not available). I cannot find information for future prospects of music producers. Identify three other related careers or jobs in the same area. There a lot of jobs related to music. One of the closest jobs to music producer is a singer-songwriter. Like it’s name, a singer-songwriter sings and produces their own music. Another job you can choose is an artist. Some artists, rap or vocal, makes their own music and writes their own lyrics with some help of professional producers. So if you’re talented in rapping and vocals and also want to produce music, this is a great job to choose. The last job I’m showing is a lyricist. A producer can make music and write lyrics, but they do not write a big part of the lyrics because that is the lyricist’s job. A lyricist writes lyrics that go along with the theme of the song and album. Explain what you have learned as a result of the career or job search process. As I said in the beginning, I am very passionate about music. I have goals and dreams and jobs I want to do. I am willing to do any job related to music, and this assignment helped me a lot to make decisions. I had a lot of concerns in my head, I wanted to do music but I didn’t know it was right for me. But by this assignment, I have improved my understanding of music and music production, and have decided that music is the right thing for me. I will improve my music skills and music production skills and reach my goal and work with the thing I love. Most of the information I have already known, since I am very interested and passionate about music. But I have learned a few new facts/information about music/music producing that will help me with my future.
