CITY OF ROOSEVELT PARK CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES March 20, 2017

This meeting was called to order by Mayor Allan Lowe at 6:15 p.m.

PRESENT: Mayor Allan Lowe, Mayor Pro Tem Andy O’Riley Council Members: Jeff Franklin, Melissa Klos, Mirelda Sanchez Tokarczyk, Amber Weerstra and Kevin Wisniewski

ABSENT: None

STAFF: City Attorney John Schrier, Police Chief David Boone, City Treasurer Sarah Petersen, Clerk Amy VanderLeest and DPW Superintendent David Geyer

WORK SESSION

Council discussed Agenda Items: Summit Avenue Bids Janitorial Bids List of Bills

Mayor Lowe called the regular meeting to order at 6:21 p.m.

2017-047 ROLL CALL City Clerk Amy VanderLeest called roll call.

2017-048 INVOCATION Mayor Pro Tem O’Riley provided the invocation.

2017-049 PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS None

2017-050 CONSENT AGENDA Council Member Franklin moved to approve the Consent Agenda. This motion was supported by Council Member Weerstra and carried. Roll Call: 7 Ayes, 0 Nays CITY COUNCIL MINUTES March 20, 2017

2017-051 NEW BUSINESS 8A. Bids for Summit Ave Council Member Franklin moved to approve the Bid for Summit Ave to Asphalt Paving, Inc. in the amount of $21,515.50 for milling and repaving of W. Summit Ave from Roosevelt Rd to Coolidge Rd. This motion was supported by Council Member Klos and carried Roll Call: 7 Ayes, 0 Nays

8B. Janitorial Service Bids Mayor Pro Tem O’Riley moved to remove and reject the request for bids and restart the bid process. This motion was supported by Council Member Franklin and carried. Roll Call: 5 Ayes, 2 Nays (Franklin, Lowe)

2017-052 COUNCIL COMMENTS Council Members shared comments.

2017-053 DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS Department Heads shared comments.

2017-054 PUBLIC COMMENT Michael Sutton, 962 Woodside Rd., shared a comment on the cleaning services.

2017-055 CLOSED SESSION: To review and consider applications for employment as City Manager Council Member Weerstra moved to go to Closed Session at 6:43 p.m. for the purpose of reviewing and considering the applications for employment as City Manager. This motion was supported by Council Member Klos and carried. Roll Call: 7 Ayes, 0 Nays

Council moved out of closed session at 7:10 p.m.

Council Member Franklin moved to schedule City Manager interviews as follows in Council Chambers:

Monday, March 27th at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30th at 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 3rd at 5:30 p.m.

This motion was supported by Council Member Weerstra and carried.

2017-056 ADJOURNMENT Mayor Pro Tem O’Riley moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:12 p.m. This motion was supported by Council Member Weerstra and carried unanimously.
