Innovatieplatform Rail

CDM TRACK SYSTEMS

Level 1: . The CDM-ISO-SRP, or simple railpad is placed immediately under the rail. . The CDM-ISO-DPHI is a double flapped railpad

. The CDM-ISO-SRS or simple railstrip provides a continuous support for the rail,

Level 2: . The CDM-ISO-USM, Under-Sleeper-Mats are placed under the sleepers of an existing or newly built ballasted track, . . The CDM-ISO-UBP, Under-Base-Plate pad is designed to reduce the transmission of vibration, generated . by trams and trains, from the rail into the ground.

. The CDM-ISO-SILENT-SLEEPER

Level 3: . The CDM-ISO-DFMA is a Continuous Mat Floating Slab Track (FST) . The CDM-ISO-DFPA is a Discrete Pad Floating Slab Track system . The CDM-ISO-BAM-C is a Continuous Ballast Mat which is specifically designed for reducing the vibrations, caused by rolling stock (trams and trains). . The CDM-ISO-BAM-P is a Discrete Pad Ballast Mat which is specifically designed for reducing the vibrations caused by rolling stock (trams and trains).

Embedded Rail : . CDM-ISO-DPHI-E is a specially designed vibration isolation system for discrete supported embedded tracks . CDM-ISO-COMFOTRACK is a specially designed vibration isolation system for embedded tracks that are continuously supported. . CDM-ISO-COCONTRACK® consists of a novel sleeper design that provides a continuous support surface for the vibration isolation strips and embedded rail jackets, and uses classic track fastenings. . The CDM-ISO-POROTRACK® is a poured elastomer solution that is used to provide vibration isolation for embedded track. . CDM-ISO-PREFARAIL® is a Fastener-Less Embedded Rail system.

Other Products : . CDM-FLEXIBORD is a flexible elastomeric platform buffer designed to narrow the gap between railway platforms and oncoming trains.

CDM was founded in 1986 as a spin-off of PRONOUVO NV, a company that has been active in Belgium since 1951 in the field of production and installation of vibration and noise isolation materials and systems for building, industry, railway infrastructure and transport systems. In 1986, the production activities were entrusted to CDM while the installation activities remained with PRONOUVO.

Since then, CDM has gained a leading position in Europe as a manufacturer of products and systems for vibration and structure-borne noise isolation, thanks to its commitment to continuous material innovation.

The original products of PRONOUVO were based on the so- called 'plastic cork' technology, a combination of cork with thermoplastic polymers. This technology threatened to fall behind in the eighties. CDM has aimed from the beginning at developing new materials and systems to fulfill the present needs of its customers. This quest for innovation has led in 1990 to the establishment of the 50/50 joint venture between CDM and the AMORIM group of Portugal, worldwide market leader in cork and related products with an employment of 2500 people and a turnover of 400 million Euro in 1999. This joint venture combined the manufacturing know-how of AMORIM with the technical and commercial market know-how about materials and systems of CDM.

Dedicated to market driven innovation and technical reliable competitive solutions, CDM decided to take the new millennium as incentive to start looking into a broader range of elastomer solutions (like EPDM rubber foams, PUR foams, resin-bonded rubbers, etc.), this to be able to propose the best dedicated engineered solutions to any kind of vibration or structure-borne noise isolation problem. Since 2003, CDM is again 100% Belgian shareholded, and cooperates in partnership with companies all over Europe (including the former industrial partner Amorim Group) regarding the production of the basic CDM components used in the engineered solutions.
