Grading 20%- Homework & Class Work 30%- Quizzes 30%- Tests 20%- Exams

Homework & Class Work All homework and class work will be graded on a scale of 0-5. Late work will not be accepted for any reason. At the end of the semester, one homework assignment will be dropped. There will also be an opportunity to bring in a classroom supply near the start of the semester, which can replace one missing assignment later in the semester. Quizzes Quizzes are usually announced, but I reserve the right to administer unannounced quizzes. In the event that a student is absent on the day of a quiz, there will be an asterisk in the grade book, which does not affect the overall grade. At the end of the semester, if a student has been present for all quizzes, then the lowest quiz grade will be dropped. If you would like to make up a quiz that you missed due to an absence, you may do so only if you take it prior to the following class meeting. For example, if you miss a quiz Monday and the next class meeting is Wednesday, please make arrangements with me to take the quiz on Tuesday before school, at lunch, or after school.

Tests All tests will be announced at least one week in advance. Any test not taken due to absence must be made up when the student returns to school. On test days, feel free to bring a book to read in case you finish the test early.

Tutoring I will hold tutoring daily before school (7:30-7:55) and after school until at least 3:30 PM, unless there is a faculty meeting. I am available at lunch by appointment only.

Classroom Rules 1. Respect yourself, your classmates, and your teacher. Do not speak while I am speaking. 2. Do not touch any items that are on the teacher’s desk, including the computer. 3. No eating or gum chewing in class. Students may only drink water in class if it is in a clear plastic bottle with cap. 4. Any purses or bags must be placed on the floor, under the desk, at all times. 5. If you are not seated and ready to begin when the bell rings, you will be considered tardy. Students who do not pick up an absent note, or “blue slip,” before class begins will be marked tardy. If you miss more than half of a class period, you will be considered absent. 6. You may not tape or otherwise record any audio or visual aspects of a lesson unless given permission to do so by your teacher. 7. All rules in the Lancer Life must be followed.
