p.iii.2. Verse 1b says that this message (the book of Revelation) came from God through an angel to John. Why go through an angel? Dig Deeper: Read Exodus 23:20-26, 33:1-3; Daniel 8:15-17, 9:20-22; Hebrews 2:1- 3.

p.iii.3. Read v3 (and the other blessings in the book). Read Numbers 6:22-27. What relationship, if any, is there between the blessings given in Numbers and Revelation?

p.iii.4. What struck you the most about chapter 1? What questions do you have?

p.iii.5. Look ahead: The message is written to the “angels” of the churches (read Rev 2:1,8,12,18; 3:1,7,14). What do you think that means? Why write to angels, isn’t the message for “us”, humans? (Hint: Read Psalm 91: 11-12; Daniel 10:14).
