Identify all the sevens in the first chapter. What is significant about all the number seven? Where have there been other significant sevens in the Bible?</p><p> p.iii.2. Verse 1b says that this message (the book of Revelation) came from God through an angel to John. Why go through an angel? Dig Deeper: Read Exodus 23:20-26, 33:1-3; Daniel 8:15-17, 9:20-22; Hebrews 2:1- 3.</p><p> p.iii.3. Read v3 (and the other blessings in the book). Read Numbers 6:22-27. What relationship, if any, is there between the blessings given in Numbers and Revelation? </p><p> p.iii.4. What struck you the most about chapter 1? What questions do you have?</p><p> p.iii.5. Look ahead: The message is written to the “angels” of the churches (read Rev 2:1,8,12,18; 3:1,7,14). What do you think that means? Why write to angels, isn’t the message for “us”, humans? (Hint: Read Psalm 91: 11-12; Daniel 10:14).</p>
