Whole Wheat Dinner Rolls
2 c. whole wheat flour
1 T. dry yeast 2 c. bread flour
1 3/4 c. very hot tap water
3 T sugar 1 t. salt 3T. oil
Day 1
1. In large mixing bowl combine whole wheat flour and yeast.
2. Stir well.
3. Add hot tap water.
4. Beat with spoon until a smooth batter forms.
5. Add sugar, salt, oil.
6. Mix well.
7. Add 1 cup of bread flour to above mixture and mix.
8. Add second cup of bread flour gradually until dough becomes too stiff to stir.
9. Turn out onto lightly floured surface for kneading.
10. Knead 6 - 8 minutes or until dough becomes smooth and elastic. Note: Add only a minimum of flour during kneading.
11. Shape dough -dinner rolls – divide dough in half, then half again, and then half again – until the size of a 2” ball of dough. Makes 12-16
12. Put in pan.
13. Put kitchen name on pan.
14. Let rise until end of class.
15. Teacher will put in refrigerator.
Day 2
16. Turn oven to 350 degrees . Bake for 20 minutes. 17. Remove from pans at once. Put on rack and cool.

Yield – 12 – 16 dinner rolls
