Sixth Annual SSHGS Student Essay Contest

 The following students were presented awards for the contest: o 1st Place Alexandra Lehaf o 2nd Place Erin Mulligan o 3rd Place Dylan Sprayberry

Approval of Minutes

 The minutes from the March 5, 2014 meeting were approved.

Committee Assignment Reports

 Ballots for voting on members of the AFT Executive Board will be given out this month.

 Assessment Reports are due by June 1st.

 WAC will be holding a writing contest this month.

 Michelle Dunn (Registrar) will be meeting with FAEC. Unit should submit questions for Michelle to FAEC.

 TLTR Grant Applications are due by April 25.  American Democracy Program, through CCEC, will assist Faculty with Service Learning if requested.

Pathways Program

 The Dean presented a proposal to the Unit to set up a post – graduation Pathways Program in the School. The Unit endorsed the Dean’s proposal with the understanding that the details still need developing.

Scholar’s Day Representative

 Carter Meyer was elected by the Unit to continue her service as the School’s Scholar Day Representative.

Announcements

 Scholar’s Day will take place on April 30.

 Jenn Mazza’s Retirement Party will take place on April 30.

 Book Requests for Summer 2014 courses are due to the Library.

 Those who need items to be put in storage now for the B-Wing Renovation please talk to the Dean.

 Dumbledore’s Army is collecting books to distribute to local schools.

 CRWT students will present their papers tomorrow at the Spiritual Center.

 The next SSHGS Colloquium Event will take place on April 16.

 The Center for Holocaust & Genocide Studies will host an event about the Pope & Mussolini on April 23.

 New Europe with focus on Muslims Conference will take place from 9:45-2:00 pm in the Pavilion on April 14.
