Job Description

TITLE: IT Support Technician

METHOD OF PAY: Salary

PURPOSE OF YOUR POSITION:

The primary purpose of your job position is to ensure continuity of computer system services for computer users by providing the technical expertise, assistance, and project coordination necessary. As IT Support Technician, you are responsible for a wide range of activities related to computer support such as maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware, software systems and networking.

TYPICAL FUNCTIONS:

 Diagnose computer problems over the phone determining the source of the problem.  Prioritize requests for technical assistance.  Intermediate knowledge of network and troubleshooting techniques.  Provide remote and on-site support to customers.  Provide support through email and other electronic mediums.  Install OS, applications and company software on computers, configuring as needed.  Maintain software and hardware inventories.  Microsoft Active Directory maintenance.  Network cabling installation and troubleshooting.  Network Infrastructure troubleshooting and installation.  Malware and Antivirus detection, removal, and prevention.  Documentation of tickets, processes, and configurations.  Subject to call-back during any emergency conditions (i.e., severe weather, evacuation, natural disaster, etc.)

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

 The Formal Education equivalent of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field and one year’s experience. OR

 Completion of technical training in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field acquired from a technical college, military or industrial setting, plus 3 years’ experience in computer support and networking support.

 Must have extensive experience troubleshooting all Windows Desktop Operating systems as well as Mac. Must have experience with network cabling including CAT5, CAT6 and Fiber.

 Candidate must have experience supporting, troubleshooting, and implementing wired and wireless networking infrastructure. Candidate must have a vast knowledge of web browsers including troubleshooting and configuration each. Thorough understanding of the TCP/IP protocol.

TECHNICAL CERTIFICATIONS:

One or more certifications are highly desired:

 A+  Network+  ITIL  MCP  CCENT  Security+  MCSA….Windows 7, 8, or Servers  CCNA

PLUS IF YOU HAVE EXPEREINCE WITH:

 SQL server  VPN configurations  Network Routing and Switching  Microsoft Exchange Server  VMWare  Microsoft Server 2008, 2012

I further understand that I may also be exposed to the Hepatitis B Virus and that the facility will make available to me, free of charge, the hepatitis B vaccination.

I understand that my employment with Magnolia Manor is at-will, and thereby understand that my employment may be terminated at-will either by the company or myself and that such termination can be made with or without notice.
