MAHSC Inflammation and Repair Domain

Applications now open for Step Up and Boost awards: Facilitating the preparation of grant applications Closing date: Monday 5 June 2017

Overview  The MAHSC Inflammation and Repair Domain is providing awards for clinicians, including allied health professionals, and clinical academics to backfill their time to help prepare grant applications. The domain expects that these awards will lead to an increase in high quality successful grant applications.

 The awards allow staff working across the MAHSC partners to buy time for their clinical and other sessions. This will free up time for staff to dedicate to the preparation of grant applications.

 The awards are for short-term funding based on releasing award holders from clinical and other duties for a certain number of PAs per week on a temporary basis.

 The awards are flexible in how the time is used and are available up to a maximum of four working weeks (40 PAs), either taken as a block or taken as half-days/days. For example, you may require 1-4 weeks on full PAs or 1-2 PAs/week for 1-2 months.

Awards Available Step Up: These awards are for MAHSC colleagues who have little experience in securing grant applications and who are looking to break into funded research. Step Up will be used to buy time for the award holder to work on the grant application and network with experienced grant holders.

Boost: These awards are for committed clinical academics who have secured significant project funding. The award would be used as an opportunity to move up to larger high value programme grant or Senior Fellowship level. Boost will be used to buy time for the award holder to work on the grant application.
