Lawrence Memorial Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes June 21, 2017

Visitors: Doug Howes, Sapphire Investments

Librarian’s Report: Nancy has submitted a written report.

We have received a $50.00 donation in memory of Ruth Hummel. Jill will let the Hummel’s know and thank the donor.

Nancy mentions that we should contact Fred Schroeder next year about shrubs for the plant sale. He has been advertising on Front Porch Forum and seems to have the types we are looking for. Nancy will put a note in our plant sale paperwork.

Treasurer’s Report: The monthly budget looks good. Nancy thinks there is a town appropriation deposit missing. She will check.

Investments are doing very well. Doug will be in later in the meeting to discuss them.

Old Business: We will do trivia again this fall. Nancy is happy to create questions and keep score. Caroline and Anne don’t mind reading.

Carl Engvall is just out of school and has not had time yet to let us know more about the staging of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

New Business: We need to explore new ways of doing our annual appeal. We should look at options for online donations, perhaps monthly membership drives? Board members should come to the July meeting with five examples of how we might try new ways of soliciting donations. Is there an easy way to ask for money via email, or online? Let’s all look at websites who are using fundraising tools for ideas.
