Louis Bravakis is Vice President of Planning and Development for Laidlaw Berlin BioPower, LLC an affiliate of Laidlaw Energy Group, Inc. (LLEG). He is involved and has responsibility and all aspects of project development. Before joining Laidlaw Mr. Bravakis owned an energy consulting business; Novus Energy, LLC which developed numerous renewable and Combined Heat and Power projects for clients through NY , NJ and Me. Prior to that he was the founding partner of Chiptec Corp. a manufacturer of biomass gasification systems. He is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College and holds a degree in Economics.

Paul Chamberlin is responsible for all aspects of the campus energy and utility systems including the recently completed Co-Generation Plant and the innovative landfill gas system that will supply 80% - 85% of the campus energy needs from renewable, carbon-neutral landfill gas. He is also responsible for all facility planning, design, and construction at the 5.5 million SF campus. He is a registered professional engineer and holds a BS in civil engineering from the University of California, Davis and a MS from the University of California, Berkeley.

Edward Cherian directs wind power development activities for IBERDROLA RENEWABLES in the New England region. Iberdrola is the largest wind power company in the world, and has expanded operations in the U.S. in the last few years. Mr. Cherian is the Project Manager for the Lempster Wind Project, the first commercial wind farm in New Hampshire. The Lempster project is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of 2008, and will produce enough emission-free electricity for over 10,000 average NH homes. Prior to working for Iberdrola, Mr. Cherian worked for engineering and environmental consulting companies in New Hampshire and elsewhere.

John Ferland is Director of Project Development for ORPC Maine LLC, an affiliate of the Ocean Renewable Power Company. He is responsible for project development activities in New England and eastern Canada. Mr. Ferland formerly was President & CEO of the private, non-profit Maine Center for Enterprise Development (MCED), the oldest technology commercialization center in the Maine. He was also the founding president/CEO of the Environmental & Energy Technology Council of Maine (E2 Tech Council), a statewide industry association of 130 members, with a mission to strengthen Maine’s global economic competitiveness by supporting R&D, job creation and new product development in the environmental and energy sector of the Maine economy. Before leading the MCED and E2 Tech, Mr. Ferland was general manager & CEO of Clean Casco Bay, Inc., an oil spill response company created through Portland Pipe Line Corp. and funded by five oil terminal operators in Portland Harbor. He is a graduate of the University of Maine and has a Master of Marine Affairs degree from the University of Rhode Island.

Amy Ignatius was appointed In April 2006 by Governor Lynch to serve as Director of the Office of Energy and Planning for the State of New Hampshire. Prior to that position, Amy had been General Counsel to the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission. She had also been Executive Director of the New England Conference of Public Utilities Commissioners, a regional organization coordinating the efforts of the six New England states’ utility commissions on energy, communications and water policy. Amy spent six years at the New Hampshire Department of Justice General in various roles, including criminal prosecution, representation of state agencies, and director of the Consumer Affairs and Antitrust Division. Upon leaving the Attorney General’s office, she went to the law firm of Devine, Millimet and Branch in Manchester, NH where she specialized in regulatory law. Amy is a 1982 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and a 1977 honors graduate of the University of Wisconsin. She lives in Concord with her husband Jeffrey Meyers and their two daughters.

Doug Patch is a director and shareholder with the Concord law firm of Orr & Reno. He practices energy and telecommunications law before administrative agencies and the Legislature. He is a former Chairman of the NH Public Utilities Commission (1992-2001) and a former Assistant Commissioner or Safety and Assistant Attorney General. He is a graduate of Boston College Law School and the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

Jennifer Runyon is managing editor at RenewableEnergyWorld.com. She coordinates, writes, and/or edits columns and features for the publication. Jennifer is the former Managing Editor of Innovate Forum and Desktop Engineering magazine. She holds a Masters in English Education from Boston University and a BA in English from the University of Virginia.

Chris Skoglund is an Energy and Transportation Analyst at the NH Department of Environmental Services where he is the staff coordinator for the NH Climate Change Action Plan. He is also responsible for initiatives addressing emissions from the transportation sector. His background includes education as well as environmental science and policy. He was a naturalist at several outdoor environmental schools on both coasts and has also taught middle and high school science in public and private schools. While completing his Master's degree at the University of New Hampshire, he developed and coordinated the Energy Waste Watch Challenge, which reduced student energy use in dorms by nearly $70,000 over two months. He has also served as the Program Manager for the New Hampshire Carbon Challenge, where he coordinated the development of Community Carbon Challenges and developed tools for outreach and program implementation. He has a B.A. in Biology from Johns Hopkins University and is completing his Master's degree in Natural Resources at the University of New Hampshire.
