Duties: The successful candidate selected from this posting will serve as the ES&H Lead for the Waste Disposition project and provide leadership and direction to project deployed ES&H technical staff. The Project ES&H Lead will supervise, coordinate and provide oversight for all ES&H related activities and disciplines. Specific duties include:  Coordinates resources/activities and serves as primary ES&H functional point of contact.  Provides leadership and support for developing and implementing the UCOR EC&P program and its integration into the Integrated Safety Management System.  Monitors work practices utilized by UCOR and/or subcontractors.  Confers with senior management and supervisors on ES&H matters requiring conformance with UCOR’s customer, and governmental requirements. Reviews and recommends corrective action.  Stops work in imminent danger situations or conditions having imminent adverse environmental impacts.  Maintains contact with Project Management personnel to keep them informed of ES&H issues within their area of responsibility.  Conducts or oversees accident investigations, regulatory compliance audits and project ES&H compliance surveys and prepares reports as required.  Represents ES&H in meetings with customers, and other functional/project managers.  Manages development, review, and facilitates revision of ES&H policies and procedures. Manages dissemination of policies/procedures and monitors implementation at the Project level.  Conducts employee performance evaluations and reviews performance evaluations administered by subordinates.  Conduct field reviews for UCOR operations to monitor standards of ES&H practice.  Safely ensures accomplishment of Environmental Management Program objectives within approved established baselines and schedules, to establish and maintain of effective partnerships with customer, regulator, and stakeholder organizations, and ensure successful transition of personnel and resources, to successfully accomplish performance based incentives.  Promote and support Local Safety Improvement Teams (LSIT).  May be assigned to a position in support of the site Emergency Operations Center (EOC) or Joint Information Center (JIC).

Job-Related Education and Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in ES&H discipline or related science/engineering area or a combination of relevant education and experience Experience: Direct DOE-related experience is preferred. Professional Certification/Licensure is desired. Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the discipline. Technical and field knowledge of environmental discipline area. Knowledge and understanding of Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) as defined in PPD-EH-1400, Integrated Safety Management System Description.  Working knowledge and practical application of environmental discipline(s), corporate policy and procedures, and governmental regulations and practices.  Environmental oversight/compliance activities;  Conducting environmental audits and assessments of projects and facilities; Form-8a (8/12) Rev. 1 Page 1 of 2 URS l CH2M (UCOR) Job Posting

 Developing and administering environmental sampling, monitoring, permitting and reporting programs;  Emergency preparedness, response, and emergency management programs and activities relative to environmental protection;  Verbal and written communication Knowledge and understanding of governmental environmental standards, procedures, rules, and regulations;  UCOR organizational structure, functions, and policies/procedures.  Demonstrated proficiency in supervision and oversight of the ES&H functional area in a project work environment.  Technical and field knowledge in the ES&H areas of responsibility.  Experience in developing and administering ES&H training programs.  Strong organizational and leadership skills.  In addition to the above, a knowledge and understanding of Integrated Safety Management Systems (ISMS) and it’s application in DOE Prime Contractor operations is highly desirable  Previous experience working in and around radiological contaminated areas  Excellent written and verbal communication skills  Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook  Ability to obtain a DOE L Security Clearance.
