Pertinent Job Posting Information Required City of Rancho Palos Verdes Employer: Building Inspector II Position/Title: The essential functions of the Building Inspector II may vary Description: depending upon assignment, and may include: Inspects commercial and residential buildings, structures, and installations in various stages of construction, alteration or repair to ensure compliance with applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations. Examines plans and specifications, workmanship, materials, and methods for conformance with approved plans, regulations, and standard construction practices. Advises on standard construction methods and requirements. Assists in checking plans and specifications. Enforces applicable building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and related codes and ordinances pertaining to housing, conservation, construction, and rehabilitation. Inspects foundation, concrete, steel, masonry, wood construction, framing, plastering, routine plumbing, heating and electrical installations and a large variety of other complex and routine building system elements. Maintains records of inspections performed and actions taken.
