Examines plans and specifications, workmanship, materials, and methods for conformance with approved plans, regulations, and standard construction practices. Advises on standard construction methods and requirements. Assists in checking plans and specifications. Enforces applicable building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and related codes and ordinances pertaining to housing, conservation, construction, and rehabilitation. Inspects foundation, concrete, steel, masonry, wood construction, framing, plastering, routine plumbing, heating and electrical installations and a large variety of other complex and routine building system elements.
