Regional Clinical Advisor (Midlands) Part time (by arrangement up to 22.5 hours per week) Salary circa £40/£45k pro rata dependent upon experience

Thames Ambulance Service limited (TASL) is a growing Non Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) business providing patient care and transport for NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), NHS Hospitals and independent providers across the UK.

We are looking for an experienced clinical professional (nurse, paramedic or doctor) to join a newly created Midlands team.Your clinical knowledge will help our Regional Director, Area managers and their teams to readily engage with our Commissioner CCGs, Hospitals and patients to assure the delivery of the highest quality care to our patients.

By creating and developing strong relationships with key partners within the sector and community, you will play an important role in strengthening the TASL brand and raising the Company’s profile.

Duties and responsibilities Safeguard commissioners, patients and TASL staff by ensuring that clinical standards of care relating to the transportation and treatment of patients are in line with contractual and professional standards and guidelines Maintain a level of technical awareness and professional knowledge to be enable internal colleagues to benefit from your specialist clinical expertise in establishing appropriate transport and care pathways. Drawing on your clinical experience, you will provide valuable support, guidance and assistance to the team around you to fulfil contractual and internal TASL service standards of care to patients. Build relationships with commissioners, hospitals and other providers to influence and improve the end to end patient journey and experience. Work with the patient facing teams to ensure the effective sharing of clinical contract standards, expectations and escalations. Be a point of escalation for clinical complaints raised by the Commissioners and patient facing staff and team leaders. Lead/chair the Regional Rapid Review Panels Lead and support the effectiveness of clinical risk management, audits and registers Clinical audit lead Work closely with the Medical Director to ensure an effective approach to robust Clinical Governance

Skills and experience required It is a mandatory requirement of the post to hold & maintain relevant clinical qualification & registration (NMC/HCPC/GMC) and achieve any professional registering bodies “Revalidation requirements As a minimum hold level 3 safeguarding for both Adults and Children – ideally hold level 4 for both or be willing to attain level 4 An effective time manager, who can prioritise effectively and work independently sometimes to demanding timescales. Self-starter and problem solving approach An ability to build and foster positive engagement andworking relationships with customers within and outside the organisation Ability to communicate (complex) clinical matters to both peers and non-clinical people Excellent team worker Excellent written communication skills Commitment to personal development and ability to link this to the business benefit
