We are pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Mathers (pronounced May-thers) to the position of Corporations Administrator. He plans to start in December and will be working with Ronnie Pletsch through her retirement at the end of the year.

Bob brings to the Division of Corporations an extensive background in quality assurance, process redesign, performance measurement and improvement, and training & development. He has 34 years of service with the federal government including his last 17 years with the U.S. Air Force at Dover Air Force Base. Bob currently serves as Director of Manpower & Organization and leads a team responsible for analyzing and recommending ways to improve effectiveness and efficiency. From 1994 to 2000, he served as Director of Quality and was responsible for continuous process improvement initiatives. His efforts and those of his colleagues have been recognized with the Delaware Quality Award and the Air Mobility Command Quality Excellence Award.

Bob has taught business and economics courses at Wesley College, Delaware Technical & Community College as well as the Kent Vo-Tech Adult Education program. He has a degree in Law Enforcement & Corrections from Penn State, a B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration from Delaware State University, and a Masters degree in Business Management from Central Michigan University. He is active in both the American Society for Quality and the Delaware Quality Consortium.

Bob looks forward to his retirement from the world’s premier air force and starting his new career with – in his words – “the world’s premier corporations business”. Bob and his wife, Charlene, live in Dover and have 3 grown children.
