Firewood Consent for the Use of Property to Collect Firewood – Akatarawa Forest Date Personnel Vehicle No firewood collection available due to Karapoti Classic. Would all holders of firewood permits ensure they carry their permit with them. There have been reports of unauthorised removal of firewood and Rangers will be inspecting permits in future.

Akatarawa Forest Block

 Line Maintenance – Hay – JFD-A 412 – 415, Electricity Transmission Line – United Group access commencing 1 February – 31 March to complete assessment on structures. This will consist of 3 X 4WD vehicles and is weather dependant

 Akatrack Wellington – walk concessionaire will be operating in the Akatarawa Forest. Walkers will enter Karapoti, Hukinga Valley and exit Cederholm Creek

 Electrix Limited – is working in conjunction with United Group on the Pylons off Hydro RoadVieForest 3

 Police dog training school – will be ongoing on the roads within the Valley View area, Valley View Forest

Puketiro Forest Block

 United Group/Tobins Limited – Line maintenance (blasting and painting) will be carried out during the year (weather dependant) by Tobin’s Ltd. Vehicles and crew will be entering Cooks Rd, Puketiro Rd and exiting Cooks Rd

 Adjoining Land Owner – Graham Peck will be accessing private property via Cooks Rd and Puketiro Rd

 B Hall – Tractor/haymaker access to Dude Ranch via Bulls Run Rd for haymaking Pakuratahi Forest Block

 Police dog training school – will be using the Maymorn forest for ongoing training entering and exiting via Gabities

 Horse riding ongoing – route through Maymorn, Tunnel Gully, Station Drive, Kaitoke Hill Track and Pylon Loop Track

 Log 6 working in Glider Club on the Incline side via the Glider Club access road

 Log 5 working in the old stand through Tom O’Reilly’s property

NOTE: Logging trucks are operating over the route from Puketiro to Totara Park via Rallywoods We have had complaints from the logging truck drivers about opposing heavy vehicles

Please ensure all heavy vehicles entering Valley View are advised of the logging truck movements.

We have had incidents of vandalism to contractors gear. Please be alert for unauthorised personnel within the forest blocks

All vehicles MUST give way to loaded logging trucks 5
