POSITION TITLE: Parent Involvement Assistant DEPARTMENT: Human Investment

POSITION REPORTS TO: Center Manager FTE: 75% - 100%

POSITION DURATION: as funds permit WRITTEN BY: CAT Administration

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for scheduling and encouraging parent and community members to volunteer in all areas of the program. Assist parents in organization of parent group and its activities. Assist with parent education workshops.

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school diploma, equivalent or at the recommendations of the interview team with approval of Policy Council and the Director.

2. At least one year experience working with adults.

3. Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format with children, parents, professionals, paraprofessionals and staff.

4. Must have dependable transportation and/or valid driver's license and auto insurance.

5. Must have current First Aid/CPR card.

6. Basic working computer knowledge.

7. Ability to work in a cooperative team manner and to follow directions and program policies.

8. Bilingual skills a plus.

9. Ability to participate in regular kneeling, stooping, bending and sitting on the floor.

10. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

11. Must be willing and available to work flexible hours.

12. Must be able to travel to out of town meetings and trainings. 13. Must comply with program confidentiality policies.

14. Must be on the criminal history registry and pass a pre-employment drug screening.

15. Must be able to work with families from a diverse population.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist with recruitment of volunteers.

2. Maintain records as required.

3. Assist with training for volunteers.

4. Assist parents in organization of parent group.

5. Help with support services as needed.

6. Assist Center Manager or Family Advocate with parent education trainings and workshops.

7. Attend all meetings and in-service trainings.

8. Assist with Family Partnership Agreements.

9. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
