WORLD COMMUNICATIONS DAY: Today, 20 May, the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord, is World Communications Day. There is a Special Collection for the Catholic Communications Network, the Media Office of our Bishops’ Conference, responsible for the www.catholicnews.org.uk website. Please pick up a World Communications Day postcard from the back of church.

“MY DAY BY DAY”: The June edition is now available at the back of church, suggested price £1.

PENTECOST SUNDAY: Next Sunday, 27 May, Pentecost Sunday, is a Day of Special Prayer for the Church. Pentecost Sunday is also the last day of Eastertide.

QUEEN’S JUBILEE CELEBRATION: “Queen’s Jubilee Celebration for Merseyside on Pentecost Sunday” will take place next Sunday, 27 May. The service will begin at 3pm at the Metropolitan Cathedral and will end at the Anglican Cathedral including a procession along Hope Street.

CATHOLIC CHILDREN’S SOCIETY: The April / May donation is now due. Please place your donation (in a bag, making sure to include your name) in the Collection. All enquiries to Angela on 632 2519.

Friday, 6 July: St Michael & All Angels, Woodchurch, 6 – 9pm: Veneration of Relic, Confessions and Eucharistic Exposition, then Compline Saturday, 7 July, St Wilfrid’s, Northwich, 9.15 – 11am: Morning Prayer, Veneration of Relic and Confessions; Shrewsbury Cathedral, 12.30 – 5.30pm: Mass, then Veneration of Relic and Confessions.
