Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor The School of Nursing at The Catholic University of America seeks to fill an approved 8.5- month, benefits-eligible tenured/tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in our undergraduate program, to begin in August 2017.

The SON is CCNE accredited and has over 750 students enrolled in BSN, MSN, DNP, and PhD programs. Our MSN, DNP, and PhD programs are also offered on-line. Moreover, The Catholic University of America boasts a beautiful campus in the heart of Washington DC, the nation’s capital, a center of health care, higher education, culture, and history.

Dedicated to advancing the dialogue between faith and reason, The Catholic University of America seeks to discover and impart the truth through excellence in teaching and research, all in service to the Church, the nation and the world.” Minimum Qualifications : Earned research doctorate (PhD/DNP or equivalent), experience as an adult-geriatric nurse practitioner and teaching in the following nurse practitioner programs: adult-geriatric and family practice , professional experience commensurate with the rank of assistant/associate professor, academic administrative experience, leadership and management ability, record of scholarly achievement including funded research, excellent communication skills, proven ability to mentor junior faculty, and demonstrated ability to function effectively in large, complex organization and to work productively and collaboratively with individuals and groups. The faculty member will engage in active research and scholarship in their area of concentration, classroom instruction at all levels and professional, school, and university service. The faculty will be expected to: 1. Teach in the adult-geriatric and family practice nurse practitioner programs ; 2. Advise/chair student projects and research dissertations; 3. Guide and mentor junior faculty particularly with scholarship by facilitating research and publications; 4. Maintain a program of research; 5. Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration among university and external researchers; and 6. Serve as Chair and member of SON committees and SON liaison on university committees.
