Standards This SVQ is based on standards developed by the Cogent. Cogent draws its membership from a wide variety of people working in a broad range of occupations within the offshore oil and gas extraction industry.

Structure of the SVQ The way the SVQ is made up is shown below. The unit title appears in bold and the elements that make up each unit are listed under the unit title.

Mandatory units Candidates must complete all of these units:

B575 04 Establish and Maintain Effective Working Relationships 1 Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues 2 Establish and maintain relationships with visitors to the working environment 3 Establish and maintain effective communication with colleagues 4 Carry out work handovers

B5K9 04 Contribute to the Health and Safety of the Working Environment 1 Conform to legislative and general health and safety requirements 2 Monitor and maintain the health and safety of the individual, other workers and visitors 3 Monitor and maintain pollution control measures

D9A2 04 Carry Out Specialist Cleaning Operations 1 Clean offshore facilities 2 Restore the worksite

Optional units Candidates must also complete 3 of the following units, in addition to the mandatory units:

D9A3 04 Contribute to Helicopter Landing and Departure 1 Assist with preparation for helicopter landing 2 Assist with preparation for helicopter departure

D9A4 04 Handle Helideck Cargo 1 Assist with the preparation of freight for landing 2 Assist with unloading and loading of baggage, passengers and freight

D9A5 04 Refuel Helicopters 1 Assist with preparation of refueling 2 Assist with refueling of the helicopter 3 Assist with shutdown of the refueling operation

D9A6 04 Carry Out Slinging and Lifting for the Movement of Loads 1 Prepare and sling loads for lifting 2 Direct and control the movement and placing of loads

D9A7 04 Prepare Surfaces Using Abrasive Blasting 1 Prepare site for abrasive blasting 2 Clean surfaces using abrasive blasting 3 Restore the worksite

D9A8 04 Carry Out LSA Scale Removal Operations 1 Descale Low Specific Activity (LSA) contaminated plant 2 Restore the worksite
